I can't say enough good things about Purigen. I bought some wood that was leaching a lot of tannins and turning my aquarium water yellow. This stuff is amazing. It polishes the water very well and makes it look crystal clear. I would have given 5 stars, but you are forced to buy "The Bag" which is a filter media bag from Seachem. The reason for this is, is that the Purigen is very very FINE (almost like sand) and will seep through most media storage devices. You might be able to try panty hose, but I wouldn't recommend it. It is also very easy to use. Just dump it into "The Bag" from Seachem, zip tie it up, rinse it with some filtered watered (can probably use tap water, but that makes me nervous. I might be weird on this one, but tap water makes me nervous in general so whenever I'm using tap water or even filtered water, I dump some prime in the tank, Once rinsed just put it in your filter. I currently have this in 2 HOB filters and it works amazing. I have a third that I am going to put in one of my canisters, but I have been too lazy to tear my canister apart. Also I have been using for a month now in a planted tank that I dose with Excel and the Purigen has had no ill effects on the plants Excellent Product that I would recommend!!
