⭐ Purina Pro Plan Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice — Honest Review Purina Pro Plan’s Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice is one of those dog foods that strikes a really good balance between quality, taste, and price. If your dog likes a mix of textures or tends to get bored with plain kibble, this formula usually goes over really well. 🍗 What’s Good About It • Real chicken as the first ingredient You’re getting solid protein upfront, not fillers pretending to be meat. • Dogs love the texture The combination of crunchy kibble and soft shredded pieces is a big win. Most dogs pick out the meaty shreds first because they’re basically little treats mixed into the food. • Digestive-friendly It includes added probiotics, which can help with digestion and stool consistency. • Good everyday nutrition The formula has a nice balance of protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, and omega-6 fatty acids for skin and coat health. It’s not “boutique,” but it’s reliable and well-rounded. • No artificial colors or flavors A nice bonus for a mid-priced dog food. ⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind • Can cause tummy issues for some dogs Like any food, some dogs don’t tolerate it well — a few owners report softer stools or diarrhea during the switch. • Shredded pieces can be messy There can be crumbs left behind, especially in the bottom of the bag. • Contains grains It’s not grain-free, so it won’t work for dogs with grain sensitivities. ✔️ Final Verdict Purina Pro Plan Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice is a great option if you want something tasty, balanced, and not overly expensive. Most dogs love the mixed texture, and the added probiotics are a plus. It’s not the cleanest or most premium formula out there, but for the price and palatability, it’s one of the more dependable choices in its category. Read more
This is a good quality dog food. My doggo has sensitive tummy issues and so far this doesn’t seem to cause him any issues. The price increase from cheaper brands is definitely worth it and Amazon has it for the cheapest price I’ve been able to find it! Definitely recommend! Read more

This Purina Pro Plan Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice has been my Luna’s (Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix) main food for almost ten years now, and honestly it’s been amazing. 🐕✨ She’s almost 10 and has never had stomach issues, weight problems, or allergies...which is basically dog food jackpot territory. 😌 The shredded chicken blend seems to hit that perfect balance of crunchy + tender, and she actually gets excited at mealtime (which I feel is the ultimate test). 😂 Whether we’re headed out for a long day or just chilling at home, this food has been super dependable and keeps her happy and healthy. If you want dog food that actually agrees with your pup, this stuff is definitely worth it, especially if your dog is picky or sensitive like Luna can be sometimes. Read more

This was my first time ordering pet food from Amazon, I’m not sure why tho this was definitely easier than wrestling the bag into the car and then again into the house. I didn’t notice any issues with quality, or freshness. Switched my pup to this brand a few years ago and for the most part no issues unless I try switching the flavors. Read more
We have Jack Russell terriers and have fed them a mix of "Blue Buffalo" with life bits and Purina Pro. Earlier years the mix seemed to work well - our older dogs have become very finicky and pick out the 'Blue' and only eat the Purina. At a point where they needed teeth cleaning and after healing they still would not eat any mix. Switched to only Purina Pro Plan and happy pups! I think the bigger kibble is definitely preferred and clean bowls every morning. Read more
