The laminating pockets were a little tricky to separate at first, but opening them carefully at the corners did the trick. There was a slight odor the first time I used it, but nothing concerning. Once I got going, the process was quick, easy, and the results looked fantastic. This laminator is an excellent value (especially on sale) and will be useful for all kinds of classroom and home projects. I also love the built-in storage for the included tools—super handy! Laminator SL888: My first laminator- Lightweight, 13" size provides ample room for many paper sizes without having to hit the center mark spot on, very quiet, fairly quick output speed, quick heat up, cool mode is automatically ready if you use it first, otherwise need to wait for machine cool down. Typical for any machine. I have only used it to laminate bookmarks, but I can see that it can do much more. I can put several bookmarks or flat same thickness items at a time inside the laminate pouch to seal. I have not used other laminating pouches other than what was included so I cannot comment on differences. I see there was a recent price increase and I probably could have gotten it for less waiting for black Friday, but seems to be worth the price. Several sizes of laminating sheets came with the machine. I like that they were thin. Also included is a small paper cutter/trimmer, hole punch, and corner punch, packaged neatly under the lid. I think this machine will do everything I need. I recommend it and I would definitely purchase again. Read more

I received this and plugged it in and turn the power on. Adjusted it to 3 mm and all the light does is blink green. I have had it running now for 10 minutes and the light is still flashing green. When I run a sheet of laminating through it's cold and does nothing. I'm assuming the heat sensor or something is not working. I am returning this. UPDATE: THE SELLER SENT ME A NEW ONE. It works great. Heats up very quickly. I laminated some photos and they came out great! Read more
