We unpacked the 12" mattress the moment it arrived, put it in a protective mattress encasement, and then allowed it to sit for three days as recommended to completely expand before sleeping on it. Having never slept on a hybrid mattress like this, I might be over critical in my review. Although the mattress materials were soft and attractive, I wonder how well they will hold up over time. I found the firm spring coils to be too near the sleep surface. I could feel them against my hips and shoulders. I purchased a 4" cooling gel pad and found that the very firm mattress softened by the topper, made for very comfortable sleep experience. (Yes, I have the mattress in the correct orientation.) This mattress is probably best suited for beds that have foot boards. Without them, one might be inclined to sit down on one of the corners of the bed. You would not do this twice if you are old enough to have difficulty getting up from the floor. The corners have no weight bearing strength at all. The euro top on this mattress is excellent, providing a well supported sleep surface from edge to edge. Unlike the corners, you can sit down or lay down on the middle edges and enjoy total support. After sleeping on this mattress for two nights, I find it to have no strange odors or manufacturing flaws. I sleep very well on it and wake up refreshed and pain free. This was a worthwhile purchase (with the mattress topper) and I recommend it to anyone looking for firm support at a reasonable price. I am so happy that I finally found a firm mattress! I have bought two brands of mattresses before this one that had good reviews but turned out to be way too soft. I am so happy that I finally found one that I can sleep through the night without heat build up or sinking into it. It took me only two nights to get used to this mattress which is so much better than it took for the others. With the others I was in pain for an entire week, with this one I felt only slight rib pain for the first two nights most likely because I had been sleeping on to a soft mattress previously and had to get used to a firm mattress again. I have been looking for a mattress to replace a mattress I had for 30 years that was wonderful, I had bought it at furniture factory outlet that is no longer in business so I was on the lookout for one that was a good replacement and I finally found it. The previous mattress I have was a Tempur-Pedic mattress and gave support for my back and I have to say this one does the same. I'm also so happy that I am not getting hot through the night, my bedroom got all the way up to 78° Fahrenheit and I didn't get overheated from the mattress, I did have a fan going but all my other mattresses, I never could make it through the night without having to go put the air conditioner on. I prefer not to have a air conditioner going during the night because then my I start hurting. The fan that I put on I just face it up to the ceiling to just to circulate the air so it's not direct. I also was impressed by the quality of the mattress because other mattresses were made out of material that was cheap material but this mattress is more of of the slick-type material that the older mattresses were made from which makes it easier to clean if I ever needed to. I also put a mattress cover over it that would not overheat, it's made from bamboo and also it would soften a bit more of the mattress because I felt like the mattress was just a little firm for me. I bought the bamboo mattress cover off of Amazon so you can find it also so that you won't also get the mattress to overheat, I used a different mattress cover earlier on this mattress that was supposed to help repel water but I found that I lost the cooling Factor off of this mattress using it so it's important to make sure that if you put a mattress cover over it that you have one that's made of bamboo or something of that sort so it will work with the cooling in the mattress but also protect it. I'm 5'3 and weigh 170 lbs, so it supports an adult without sinking. I left it in my living room for three days to expand fully as the instructions say so I can still sleep in my old bed. I was heavy, my brother had to help me maneuver it to my room down a hall. It's a full size mattress, and the straps worked great for the last part of putting it on my platform. It expanded good and the thickness of height was correct, again the weight though is heavy so get help because that maybe why it took me two days to not wake up with back pain. Read more

I usually like very firm mattress, so at first this mattress was too soft for me. As I spend few nights on it, I find this mattress, being soft when I lay on it, holds its firmness afterward. I feel cuddled while I lay on this bed. I purchased it for our guest room so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I chose to test this long term before leaving a review; I went with this metal spring style because plain foam mattresses tend to "go flat" after a few months, that soft spot that stops supporting .... This mattress is wider than I expected, but the sleep value is excellent. Still very supporting in all areas, of course the foam layer is a factor, but the springs are what make the comfort last.
