* * update: I loved these so much that I ordered more in other prints. One that I ordered is the red/black print that's called 2-Geometry. I had to return those because the pattern on the shorts were sewn so that the 2 hem bands on the bottom of either leg were 2 completely different colors. One leg was cuffed in the section of fabric that was red/pink, and the other leg was hemmed/cuffed in the section of fabric that was predominantly black. It looked so odd. What's even odder, is that they took the time to print match the pockets, but didn't bother with the print on the hem (which is just as, if not much more noticeable). Other than that, the fit and fall of the shorts were like the others that I love. I'd love to have a pair in this fabric design, but hesitate ordering it again just to hope that the layout might be better on the next one. I am 5'4", 140 lbs, 66yrs old. I initially ordered another print in a M which is my usual size. That one fit great and I'd already worn it several times and got many compliments on it. One of my friends liked it so much, that she ordered it too, but in a size L. That size turned out to be too tight for her and she gave it to me. She assumed it would be too big for me but thought I could just wear it around the house. Trying the L on and comparing it to the M, I decided that I actually preferred the L. I have since even ordered a few more prints in a L. - Without sacrificing the overall look and how it falls, I just feel that the L is a tad more comfortable. It's a smidge longer, looser and more age appropriate while still being very cute. - The fabric is hard to describe. It's like a light weight french terry. It has a really nice weight to it so it falls nicely, doesn't wrinkle, and definitely doesn't do that dreaded accordion in that inner thigh area. - The elastic waistband is comfortable and I find that I don't really need to use the drawstring, so I just loosely tie it and tuck it inside. The waistband is wide enough that it stays flat and doesn't roll, tight enough to not need the drawstring yet loose enough to be comfortable. *** Ultra bonus points for actually print matching on the pockets! I had no expectations that the pockets would be print matched at this price point, but they've done a pretty good job at doing so. The 2 front pockets are matched almost perfectly. The 2 back patch pockets are a smidge off, but still done very well ... especially for casual, inexpensive shorts as these. I truly love these and will definitely be ordering more. Read more
Some of the most comfortable shorts I’ve ever worn - they do run slightly big, but have a drawstring to adjust the waste. They look nice, wash & dry nicely and do not shrink and have not seen any signs of fading after wearing them all summer. Definitely worth the money. Read more
The shorts are really comfortable and good coverage. Semi high waisted, I wore them between the top of my hips and my belly button. The material is thick without being too hot. Design is bright and the shorts feel sturdy. These just did not match the look I was going for. I would consider buying a different color/pattern now that I know the material. These are great shorts! The material is a thicker, more sturdy fabric than I thought it would be for the price. The shorts lay well on the body & hold their shape. They go great with lots of different tops & will transition well from summered to Autum/Fall here in Texas. The elastic waist band makes for comfortable wearing.
