These work great
1 bought 4 of these. They are great for a small to medium room. As soon as you turn them on you can feel the heat hit you. I don't even use the high setting. I would highly recommend this product. Read more
Good heater.
I like these heaters but as far as I can tell there is really no thermostat. Just a timer which is nice but I use a plug in thermostat and solve the problem. It turns it off for me and save my electricity when I'm not watching it and it gets warm. These will heat a small to medium size room but not a large room. Read more
Not particularly solid but I love everything else about this heater
Spent years struggling with the presto heat dish. Its heating element makes a shreak noise, which it does every time the thermostat cycles on. It runs too hot most of the time so keeps having to cycle. The coils aren’t covered so smell after disuse. And it makes a loud buzz when moving it while on. This heater in contrast has a glass covered heating element. Has a 400w low mode that is both efficient and low enough to run pointed at you all day. It also doesn’t buzz when you move it, just quietly turns itself off until you put it back down. I do wish it was solidly built and would pay extra for more heft. And wish the tilt included horizontal, as 400w is the perfect setting for keeping your feet and legs warm in a cold room on a chilly morning! More than pays for itself keeping the thermostat set lower. I bought a second for another room! Read more
Good bye Presto.
Caught 2 of these on sale, the oscillating and tilt is good also nice to have a timer option included but we don't need it. At less than 1/2 the price of a Presto heat dish I'll be more than satisfied if they last 4 heating seasons. Read more
Buyer beware. Not the same as the older models
I had one of these years ago that lasted 6+ years, so I decided to buy 2 more. Lesson I learned... they dont make things like they used to. This heater is very cheaply made. The knobs are not going to last, even being super careful turning them. The heater makes a loud clicking noise that you just cant ignore, and does not put out a whole lot more heat comparing the low v/s the high. I will be returning them both. Does not appear to have a ceramic heating element.
Read somewhere that it had a ceramic heating element but the heating element just looks like a coil of regular wire. No info in the documentation that came with the unit indicated that it has a ceramic heating element. Also the unit will not tilt to level or lower position. The cord is too short. The carrying handle is insufficient for getting a good grip on unit - this requires two hands to carry. I'm not real sure I would buy this unit again. Heats OK I suppose. Instructions are not clear whether or not the unit can operate "continuously" or only on the timer. Read more
