Well made and effective down jacket. It is necessary to layer, but when you do it keeps you warm. Tight fitting, so if you will be using several layers, you may want to size up. One negative: The hood. I wish it was removeable because it is very bulky. You can roll it up, but it looks ridiculous. Read more
This jacket is super warm, really light for the amount of warmth it gives, and the medium turned out to fit me perfectly. I was at the top end of the medium sizing and was concerned, but it's literally perfect. Expensive, but I'd highly recommend! Read more

I haven’t owned a real winter coat in over 30 years, much less a goose down parka. I moved to California a long time ago and really didn’t need one. Even when I lived back east or went to visit family, I got by with layering long underwear, heavy shirt & a sweater. My Mountain Hardware goose down jacket served me well and I used it as a layer too when in the Lake Tahoe area. I recently bought a house in the Sierra Nevada foothills and it does get cold and we do get snow, so I figured I should get a good parka. I did a lot of research and settled on this Neutrino Pro. I love it, fits like a glove, is really comfortable and super warm. It’s so light, I can hardly tell it’s there. I was worried that it may be too warm as the reviews said it’s for 40 degrees and below. I wear it when it’s 50 degrees and I do not overheat walking around town, climbing a mountain may be another story. But when it drops below 40 or 30 degrees, it’s like wearing an electric blanket it’s so warm and comfortable. Very flexible and lots of freedom of movement. My mountaineering helmet fits under the hood. There is a Velcro adjustment strap on the back of the hood so you can raise the front up so it doesn’t droop down in front of your eyes, love that. The hood cinches tight & the strings are inside the jacket, so they don’t flop around. I keep a Vertex rain shell in the inside breast pocket just in case it rains really hard. It does OK in a light drizzle on it’s own. I made the mistake of wearing it at a restaurant because it was cold with the door constantly getting opened. I got a couple of oil stains on it which bummed me out. I piled on some talcum powder 4-5 times until the oil stains were gone, but that seemed to soak up the water resistant coating too and the rain started to soak in. Now I need to wash it & spray some new coating on per Rab’s instructions. I’m not too worried and need to learn how to do that eventually to maintain it. I wish I had bought something like this years ago. Read more
This parka is extremely warm, comfortable, all kinds of bells and whistle adjustments, great hood and fit. One star off because in this great color, the brown-colored feathers in among the white ones show through and it makes the coat look, in my opinion, like it has dirty spots. Rab should source only white down in this yellow color. I'm 5'7" 135 pounds proportional build female, and the Men's Medium fits perfectly, with the hips being snug enough to keep out the cold. I bought this coat to take to the arctic circle to see the Northern Lights. It exceeded my expectations for warmth, function, and comfort. It also packs down into a small straw string sack for easy packing and transport. I highly recommend this coat. Read more
