This was a gift for my young child. I was tired of him beating on pots and pans and tables. This is so melodic and almost reminds me of a wind chime. The sound quality is out of this world as well as the build quality. This thing is solid and a bit heavy but it's well made. I love how big it is but it still remains portable thanks to the bag it comes with. I don't know how to do anything musically but I still have fun playing with this. The media could not be loaded. Interesting instrument. Just opened today and have been sampling the different sounds. I recorded a few minutes so people could hear the notes and resonance. I’m a classical pianist who recently added a Korg piano keyboard for my 5 and 6 yo granddaughters. The youngest likes putting on my headphones and composing. I thought they would like this instrument which would allow them to hear the notes and sounds without expectations. This pan drum has good sound except for 2 of the higher pitched notes. They are in tune but are a bit flat. The mallets work fine but the finger pluckers are worthless from what I can tell. It also has a little book of music. I spent some time trying to sound out Paul Simon’s The Sound of Silence on it. It’s an easy piano piece but a work in progress on this drum. Read more
