The strap broke first time I packed it Read more
Very well constructed, convenient size for carrying by hand or with the included thin strap. The waterproof fabric has an unusual synthetic texture/feel, seems to be some sort of silicone rubberized woven core material (I'm just guessing here). The handle wrap snaps closed, which can get annoying after repeatedly opening and closing. I would have preferred a magnetic closure, since all the snaps do is keep the wrap in place. Design is simple and utilitarian. Nothing really exciting about a single-compartment bag, but it gets the job done. Will be interesting to see how well it wears, because the bottom of the bag has zero scuff or skid protection on the edges or corners. A more robust clip-on shoulder strap would have been a welcome enhancement, as would an internal pocket for keeping the shoulder strap separate and accessible when not in use. But all in all, it's a nice bag. Read more
This is my go to bag for overnights or quick little trips! Is very durable and made of good quality materials. It's definitely waterproof - spilled an entire bottle of water on it at one point and everything inside was bone dry. I wish the bag was a little bit bigger but it's on me that the one i have is the size it is! I'm very happy with this bag! Read more
I’ve found RAINS to make very nice, minimalist style bags. I’ve been using their rolltop trail pack for short hikes and drone photography and the combination of quality waterproof materials is hard to beat. This weekend bag has the same high quality materials in a different form factor and is working out great for me so far as a duffel bag for short trips. I can easily fit a weekend’s worth of clothes along with my toiletry and tech pouches in here and still have enough room left over for a light jacket. Build quality and overall craftsmanship is excellent; I particularly like the metal hardware covered in a soft touch rubber which just feels nicer than typical plastic. The style is pretty minimal, there aren’t a bunch of pockets and compartments, but if you’re looking for simplicity and space that’s well made and understated looking, RAINS bags are hard to beat and easy to recommend. This is another high-quality piece of kit from Rains. Well known for their style and in particular their rainwear. This duffel is a nice size and has a nice "latexy texture" to it. "Waterproof" in that you can use it in inclement weather without worry. I have the one in black as can be seen in the photos. Nice charcoal black color that goes with anything. Will provide an update on durability after I have used it for a while. True to their minimalist Scandinavian styling that they are famous for, the back has few embellishments but carries their Urban Chic. Use it for the gym, for work, or for a carryon. As an aside, I have a couple of their rain slickers and they are both stylish and functional. Read more

I've used the RAINS Hilo Weekend Bag Small in black for two short trips. I like to pack light and keep things simple, and this bag does the job well. The waterproof feature is helpful. I don’t have to stress about my stuff getting wet if I get caught in the rain or put the bag down on a damp surface. The material feels sturdy but still flexible, making it easy to pack. The size is just right for a weekend trip. I can fit a couple of outfits, toiletries, and some extra items without cramming everything in. The shoulder strap is adjustable and doesn’t dig into my shoulder, even when the bag is fully packed. The handles are sturdy and comfortable to hold too. The zipper moves smoothly along the entire distance of the zip without binding. There are a couple of minor downsides. The bag doesn’t have interior compartments, so organizing smaller items can be a bit tricky. I ended up using a few small pouches to keep things sorted. Also, it might be a bit small for those who need to pack more. Read more
