Great overall, with just minor drawbacks This dock is very well built and works seamlessly with the Mac mini. The wide range of ports is really convenient, and having the option for SSD expansion makes it even more useful. Setup was easy, and performance has been smooth in daily use. The only small downside is that the SSD installation space is a bit tight, so it may take some extra effort if you’re using a drive with a larger enclosure. I picked this up as I bought an Apple Studio for my wife and needed a way to add her 4TB SSD to the new system. I also wanted some additional ports for devices, and this seemed to fit the bill. So far, it’s been great. The small form factor is awesome and the ability to install the SSD inside was simple and straight forward. It doesn't show any real heat issues, and the conncection is stable and quick over usb-c. My wife uses the drive for her photo storage for Lightroom and is very impressed with the speed in which it renders. I wish it had HDMI, as an added port, but can’t complain. Just love it! I’m very surprised how it matches my mini m4 in appearance. Like one piece cut out of the same metal block. Super nice look. All ports works fine. And the the best part is the nvme port is embedded inside the metal dock-all the metal around it to dissipate the heat. With current nvme drive hot as stove, this is just genius and prolong life of the hard drive and my data. I believe the heat capacity is energy better than the internal drive of mini itself. I have a MAC mini, and this stand really helps. It functions well with a USB-C connection (easy to set up) and extend my MAC mini with more ports to use. Plus, it can be used to cool down the MAC mini. I do not have a 8TB SSD but I do have a 4 TB SSD and a 2TB SSD and when connected, it works fine so far.
