This RC monster truck really impressed me. With a house full of kids who’ve gone through all kinds of RC cars over the years—from cheap novelty ones to higher-end models—this one stands out as one of the most fun and durable we’ve had. Right out of the box, it looks great and feels solid. It’s quick, handles well, and can pull off spins, donuts, wheelies, and even flips with ease. The controls are simple enough that even younger kids can figure it out quickly, but it’s still exciting enough to keep older kids entertained. Mine have been running it nonstop—indoors, outdoors, off ramps, into walls—and it just keeps going. It’s taken a serious beating and hasn’t skipped a beat, which says a lot. One thing I really appreciate is that it’s tough enough to actually let kids play freely without constantly worrying about it breaking. The oversized wheels handle all kinds of terrain and obstacles, and it performs just as well in the house as it does outside. The only downside is the battery life—it’s decent, but not amazing, and the charging cord is a bit short and attached, which can be slightly inconvenient. A review from my son: "That was VERY good. I like that it could go all directions and I like that it can spin and do backflips." With 3 sons aged 9-17, we've had our share of RC cars. Everything from "great-aunt bought at pharmacy day of birthday party" cars to legit Hot Wheels brand monster trucks. We've had ones that claimed to stick to the wall. Ones with big foam wheels for some reason. Ones that drove on water. Batmobiles (yes, plural). When I was a kid, I had THE ANIMAL (can anything stop The Animal?!). But this Motor Dayz Big Kahuna really surprised me with its quality. It feels good, it looks good. It accelerates quickly, it handles beautifully. It's DURABLE. The media could not be loaded. By far the best and most fun RC I've gotten my son. He's 2.5 and he was able to easily figure out how to do donuts, flips, wheelies and more with this RC. Also - because he's 2.5 - he has run it through the ringer. It's crashed into so many walls, flipped off ramps, he's made ramps with our nugget couch, sent it down a slide and more. This car has handled it all and more. My son is a car lover and we've gotten a few higher quality more expensive RCs and to be honest the whole time we are more worried about him breaking the car that it doesn't end up being much fun for him. The price of this one wasn't bad at all and about half the price of his expensive one. Because of that I felt like we were more lax and let him play with it more without worry. The wheels are huge and foamy and do not seem affected by his crashes or different obstacles he puts in front of it (including monster trucks, hot wheels and more). His favorite feature by far was the easiness of it in doing wheelies and donuts. He will do that for an hour straight if we let him. The only thing I will need to remove a star for is the battery life, which is less than optimal. The issue can sometimes lie in my son forgetting to turn off the car before he goes to his next activity. But even if we are watching and shutting it off it lasts maybe a few hours. I also wish either the cord was separate or was longer. I like that it's attached so I don't lose it but the cord is so short I need to basically lean it against the wall to charge it properly. Even with the shorter battery life we still have so much fun with this car and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a RC with easy to learn controls that will let you do all the tricks. **Please ignore how messy my floor is LOL** Read more

This truck seems like it could be a fun toy, but unfortunately, I can't get it to charge. I can't even get the light that the instructions say should come on while charging. I definitely think it is some sort of wiring issue, but it's not anything I can fix. It's a bummer though because this seems like it would be an easy, but fun, remote truck. The remote is basic and similar to a game controller, so there would be less of a learning curve, even for smaller kiddos or the "can't teach an old dog new tricks" types like me. According to the instructions, the truck can run forward, backwards, left, right, spin, and flip. It also has big foam wheels with a noticeable tread, so it seems like the truck could run over a good variety of objects and surface types. The front bumper and light bar are appropriately flexible and seem like they would withstand wreck, after wreck, after wreck. There's also a small wheel on the back of the truck to help with flips. The stickers on the truck resemble the real Big Kahuna, but are not on very well and have bubbles and wrinkles. There is a compartment on the bottom of the truck that hides the charging cable when not in use. The remote takes 2 AA batteries which are included. The truck is substantial enough that it gives the illusion of being more than what it is (a good thing). Overall, it is a decent looking remote truck. I only wish it worked. Read more

This RC Truck is a nice gift for a younger child, probably in the 5-10 year old range. It's a USB charge only item and only the controller takes AAA batteries. It runs very quiet and it's quick. The main issue I see is that when the truck turns over, the operator has to go and flip it upright by hand as the tires don't touch the ground to help it right itself. The tires are like a soft foam material so I don't think this would hold up well outside on a sidewalk, maybe grass ok but looks to be an indoor toy.
