Great tool bag that is structurally rigid, full of pockets, and beautifully made

JCNovember 24, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Perfect tool bag. Many pockets, sturdy and well built, and rigid enough to stand on it's own (doesn't flop around like many bags). I purchased the 18" option and couldn't be happier. I was looking for a bag that was sturdy but also aesthetically pleasing and was bummed out to find not many options. I initially considered one of those tote bags (with the bucket shape) but was displeased at how ugly many of the options were (e.g. Toughbuilt). I was lucky to find this tool bag and I couldn't recommend it more. Read more

This is a really nice bag!

Peter MeilakMarch 21, 2024✓ Verified purchase

Like the headline - it is a really nice bag, I went through 4 other bags and this was the Goldilocks. The Carhartts bags are equally as nice but they are much taller - I didn't like the look and everything was deep in the bag. The Gatemouth - well owned the 12 inch - for 20 years so it lasted but I wanted something a little bigger - tried the 16 but it was really too big on the bottom. Great for the guys that can lift 40 pound bags and with all that room I m temped to do that but it becomes a chore to lift and move it. So about this bag - very sturdy, stitching is uniform and zipper feels and runs great. my only complaint is the deepness of the pockets - very deep and stuff gets lost down there. I cut up some foam and stuffed it in half the pockets and now they are only 3 inches deep and perfect. Just what I wanted a nice, sturdy bag - not to small and not to large - just right! Read more

Cool, sturdy little travel bag for my bike tools

John BMay 30, 2020✓ Verified purchase

I like this little bag. I use it for a bicycle tool set that I take on road trips so it moves between my RV, my truck & my house. I’ve got tools in my “workshop” so these are “traveling tools” (as in “if I can’t fix it with what’s in the bag, it ain’t getting fixed till I get home or taken to someone that really knows what they’re doing”). So, it’s full. Probably weighs 8 pounds. Seems sturdy enough for my needs & I like it (I really wanted the saddleback leather $160 toolbag but, on a long list of indefensible things I’ve done in the spirit of cycling, that proved a bridge too far. Even for me). This seemed a good compromise 😉. BUT, I move the thing around three or four times a week. I don’t use it professionally (in any sense of that term). I think if I were doing something for everyday professional use, I’d probably be thinking less about “cool” and more like “I wonder what would happen if I dragged this behind my truck for 100 miles with 10 pounds of sand & broken glass🤨”. I like the bag. It’s cool. I’d buy another. I’ll be tickeled if it lasts 10+ years. But I’m just a hobbyist. I don’t use it for real work Oh, and the shoulder strap is kinda silly. I sorta think if I need a shoulder strap for so met this this small, I might be doing something wrong. Read more

Fine for tools, great as a purse

J.ElvisApril 9, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I'm at the age where I don't want to waste what precious time I have left digging for stuff in my purse. This tool bag has everything I was looking for: structure, a reinforced bottom, a zipper closure, a crossbody/shoulder strap, made of sturdy materials (nice heavy waxed cotton canvas), and sooooooo many pockets inside and out! One larger (which can fit a smartphone), two medium (gum, Clif bars), and four smaller (for keys, lip balm, etc) on the outside, four big ones on the inside (wallet, phone, Kindle Paperwhite, snacks), and the top of the bag opens wide so you can see and reach everything easily. And it looks nice! It's a tool bag, so it's built for more durability than a purse. I opted for the 12" bag, and it's big enough for my purse needs; if you have kids, or want to be able to stash your lunch/water bottle in there too, I'd go for one of the larger ones. When I buy one for my actual tools, I'm going for at least the 15" so I can fit my impact driver and a backup battery in with the rest. I've paid twice as much for a purse half as functional, so it's a great deal. It's on the expensive side for a fabric tool bag, but I still think it's worth the money. Read more

Holds all my gear and holds up to regular use

BV in KYMarch 28, 2024✓ Verified purchase

I needed a bag to hold tools for a welding class, so it's been in and out of my trunk, on the floor of the shop, packed and unpacked repeatedly and it shows no signs of wear. It's large enough to hold a 4.5" grinder with the wheel attached (handle detached) but in the bag, welpers, welding locking pliers, chipping hammer, 2 adjustable wrenches, markers, flashlight, paint scraper, spare grinder wheels, tape measure, several welding magnets, and some other odds and ends. That said, many of these items have to be loose in the main compartment rather than in the slots on the inside side pockets. The smaller adjustable wrenches, welpers, pen light, and markers all fit, but the welpers just barely fit and the locking pliers, paint scraper, and chipping hammer are all too tall for those pockets. Durable, compact, excellent replacement for tool buckets

JT52December 20, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I have been toting around a 5-gallon bucket with a husky tool organizer insert for 10 years. After several times having the bucket handle pop off and having to remove the insert to pop the handle back on just to have it pop out again, I finally decided to switch it up and purchased this 18” tool bag from Readywares. I was hesitant to downsize from the 5-gallon bucket to this tool bag, but it is really well set up for carrying your most utilized equipment. I was able to transfer everything I needed from the bucket to this bag with no issue. Pouches for screwdrivers, pliers etc.. keep things well organized and hammers, squares, large wrenches fit well in the bottom main compartment. Exterior pouches fit standard tape measure pretty well with a snug fit at first but will likely loosen over time as it breaks in. I even have empty pockets to fill still. Durable rubber feet on the bottom of the bag protect surfaces and keep it elevated from whatever it is set on. Only negative comment I will make I was not able to store my larger set of channel lock pliers in the interior storage pockets as they were just slightly too long to be allow the bag to zip closed. Overall very pleased with the transition to this bag and its much more totable and compact than the bucket. Readywares also makes a bucket organizer, but I think I would just go with this bag instead. Read more
