I've used a lot of different salts over the years—basic table salt, kosher salt, even fancy pink Himalayan—but Redmond Real Salt is genuinely my favorite. This is the real deal. All those flecks of color? Those are MINERALS!! And your body needs them. Our nation has been taught to fear sodium with no discernment of source or form-factor. Unfortunately it's also been feed a steady supply of REFINED white salt. Unlike natural salt, the refined stuff is acidifying and not healthy. My research has lead me to understand that we can consume quite a lot of salt, if it's unrefined and free of toxins. I won't name the amount, but it's more than anyone would normally want to consume. With this stuff I always season to taste with no concerns and no regrets. What about Pink Himalayan, you might ask? Sadly the majority of our supply is cut with substantial amounts of refined white salt. Because it's cheaper and you can't see the difference when they are done. After such a process it's no longer healthy or natural. I'm willing to eat sea salt in purchased products, and hope it's pure and clean, but for my home use (and even when traveling) I rely on Redmonds. And enjoy as much as my tongue calls for with no fear for my wellness. This is the good stuff! They also sell it in tiny travel shakers, though they are unfortunately in plastic rather than glass. It is salt. REAL salt. 😀 We live GF and try to be as natural as possible. I prefer this salt as I like the granular size and it has a good taste. Good for cooking as well as preserving. Also place in my salt grinder which can make it more fine - grinds well. Read more
Wonderful size, I got mine months ago and I still have more! This is my 2nd order. I do not get the kosher salt, but it doesn’t need anything done. The taste is wonderful and the seal is a little twisty tube. It’s not hard to open or use. No need to grind anything (non kosher) and it does not clump at all! Beautiful red color too. I ordered this sea salt because a lot of bakers were recommending it. I'm so glad I did. Redmond Real Sea Salt is a quality product mined in the USA ( Utah). It enhances the flavor of my cooking with a mild salty-sweet flavor. Its very subtle but effective. Love it in my chocolate chip cookies. Amazing. Great value for the money. The media could not be loaded. This is a great quality salt in some classy packaging that looks great. We have been really trying to be better at getting minerals in our bodies. I put this into all of our water bottles including my kids. And they never complain about it or taste it. They've gotten to the point that they know that I do it and don't care. We also sprinkle it on food and I think it is an easy way to get some extra minerals in our bodies. And it is a very high quality salt. I'm also glad that it is from America. I don't know that I can say that we have noticed and intense change in our daily lives but I like thinking that we have added some minerals to our bodies for the better. I am grateful for the size of the bag that we will be able to use it for some time to come. I'm also grateful that I got it at a good time when it was on sale and that's why I opted for the bigger bag so it is a great value. It has an awesome pour spout that has a good twisted seal. We love this salt. We get it in this two pack because it seems to be the best price for the quantity. It is in an easy pour package which is nice. It is super high quality. I would mention that it is true, from-the-ground salt. With that said, sometimes there are teeny tiny hard pieces. 99.999% of the time it isn't noticeable at all. But I don't use this salt when making something that is very soft (like deviled eggs) because you might get a hard piece and people think it's a piece of a shell. Deviled eggs are the only foods that I choose a different salt for. If you don't make deviled eggs, or other very soft foods then disregard what I said. But this salt on/in literally everything else is superb and I would give a higher rating if I could. I use it in my homemade seasoned salt, homemade hot cocoa mix, on pizza, in all my baking and breads, literally everything. I use it daily. I know that there are other natural minerals and such in it, which is cool, but the taste is amazing. Love! Read more
