I have been wearing these for a couple weeks now for lifting and a few short runs and they have quickly become part of my regular rotation. The 7 inch length hits right above the knee on me at 5 foot 11 and about 240 pounds, and the large fits just right without feeling tight. The elastic waistband is comfortable and stays put during squats and treadmill work. The material is 100 percent polyester but it feels soft and breathable, not stiff or scratchy. They do a good job of wicking sweat and they dry pretty fast after a tough session. I like that the cut is simple and not overly flashy. Some gym shorts can feel too long or too short, but this length looks balanced for general training. Compared to other athletic shorts I own in a similar price range, these feel just as well made and hold their shape after washing. The stitching looks clean and I have not noticed any loose threads. My husband loves these shorts. The fabric is incredibly soft, so much so that he even sleeps in them. They are perfect for lounging or for any day when comfort is the top priority. I ordered the black heather color, and it is a great substitute for plain black since it is dark, neutral, and easy to pair with anything. The 100% polyester material is thin and light, which gives the shorts a relaxed, airy feel. He wears a size XL and the XL in these shorts fit him exactly as expected. The length is just right, falling a little above his knee. The listing photos show the shorts hitting at different lengths depending on the model, and on my husband they match the longer look shown in some of the photos. The waistband is wide and comfortable, and the flat drawstring makes it easy to adjust the fit without adding bulk. There are two generously sized pockets that easily hold a phone or wallet. They are open pockets with no zippers or Velcro. The small Reebok emblem on the bottom left leg is very understated, which I appreciate since we prefer clothing without large or loud branding. I'm a big fan of Reebok shorts. This particular pair is very soft, knit polyester which means it is not at all restrictive. It is the type of fabric where if you snag them on something it pulls long wispy threads out. I got the XL size despite tending to wear size L shorts/underwear as I am in-between most sizes. The way these stretch, the L probably would have been a good fit still. I wear these shorts all day at home, or running or going to the gym. I really like the color, the blue is deep and brilliant with a heathered look. The drawstring is on the inside and has 2 molded plastic ends. The drawstring itself is on the thinner side — I would have appreciated a rounder or thicker drawstring for the price. It has two side pockets, non-zippered, which easily hold my phone, but will not keep my phone in the pocket in the car — it slides right out, just like the majority of my other shorts of this style. These might be the shorts you’re looking for. As a mom I’m not crazy about them - I think the material is on the thin side and prone to snags. If you want light shorts for exercise and you’re keeping off the concrete and out of the woods, these should be good. I don’t think they’re going to make it through the summer in our case, though. I love these shorts. They are very comfortable and lightweight. They allow for fast, easy movement, so they'd be great for any sport you'd play in shorts. I'm 5'10" / 155 lbs with a 31" waist, which puts me right in the middle of the small size range. However, I think at 32", they'd start feeling a little tight. I suggest medium if you're 32". You can see in my photo that the waist of these shorts in small, unstretched, is about 28". The length is great, coming to a couple of inches above the knee. The material is very soft, and the overall quality is excellent. With the snug fit, I don't need the drawstring, even with my heavy phone and keys in the pockets, but it's there if you do. The pockets are sized well, easily accommodating my Pixel 10 XL. The waistband has some non-slip material to keep the shorts from rotating on you. I also really like the ebony heather (gray) color. They are made of 100% polyester, and they are very soft, lightweight and comfortable.
