This REMO Thunder Tube produces a very decent Thunder Effect. I am a former Recording Engineer and Producer and would often get hired to create all sorts of sound effects for Theatrical Productions. One often was simulating thunder which always required using large sheets of thin metal that I would vibrate, then record the sound and play it back at a slower speed. Very cumbersome and time consuming. This little tube does the job. Now I only use it in my Personal Home Music Recording Studio for an occasional effect. You can beat the price and it is very well made. Read more

Love this size thunder drum. I've used the smaller 2" tubes before this one and there's no comparison. This larger one has a great sound with that deeper resonance. Fun to play, easy. I use this during sound baths along with a pala chime that sounds like rain, creating a thunderstorm passing through effect. I love it and curious participants often ask about it afterwards, "what was that thundery thing?!" :D Read more

This thunder drum has made my sound bath so much nicer. After each sound bath people always ask me what was that sound, and they are so impressed when I show them the thunder drum. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This is even better than I thought it would be. The video doesn't even do it justice. I'm so excited to add this to my sound baths! Read more

The sound is incredible, but I received one with the spring glued in sideways, and seemed incredibly fragile like the membrane was brittle. I wondered if they’re all like this? I was afraid to let my children try it because the membrane seemed it would crack with any accidental pressure where the spring is attached. Read more
