I like this very much out of the box pretty good but I like to upgrade things and that’s where some issues because there are no upgrades for this which leads me to have to customize it myself. It is between hobby and toy grade but if you have the time and know what you are doing this truck is great for all levels update to all I found that this is is the exact same chassis layout as the DEERC 1/18 9309E so you can upgrade using those parts Read more

I think think the XiyoRC remote is great, it's fast, but I did think it would be bigger yet I'm very satisfied. Funny but true it arrived around 8:40pm so I didn't have a lot of time to play with it. I ran it twice. So in the morning I would give it a workout I did and a dog caught it and bit a couple of wholes in it. Lol. I was mad as well Great truck. Will order something else from this seller. Very cool little car! I've played with 1:10 scale, 1:12 scale, and this one; 1:18 scale and so far this one is the most fun! Its pretty quick for as small as it is, it behaves like a real trophy truck, it handles jumps pretty well, goes good on grass, gravel, leaves and asphalt. Id recommend checking your suspension screws after each battery. I've noticed the screws work themselves out as youre playing which is to be expected. Thats the nature of playing with RC stuff. Id highly recommend getting this thing if you're getting into RC cars. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This is made by KFPlan, who make a lot of other hobby grade rcs that are actually pretty decent and well priced. I'd say this one is closer to toy grade in that it's mostly plastic through the differentials and out to the wheels, and just has friction shocks.... but at the same time it is built on a chassis that is more traditional for a hobby grade RC. This does lack steering dual rates, only has the ability to center the steering and does offer a throttle limiter... so again, I feel keeping it basic and easy to use for a beginner and so you can work up the speed. Also the battery is lithium ion, which I feel is a good pick for a beginner as it's more stable than a lipo. Lights on the front and top are nice, blue ground effects lights are actually kind of cool. Overall it's been a really fun truck and seems durable for it's build... like I don't think it will break itself under it's own power, but it's still fast enough to rip around and spin donuts and do some jumps. My only real gripe is the choice of tires... they are a fine enough compound and function fine, I just think they're a little too wide and look a little goofy on the truck... kind of take away from the "short course" truck body design. The good news is this does have 12mm wheel hexes once you unscrew the wheels... and some little 1/18th short course truck wheels look very good on it. I'd say that's the one thing worth upgrading on this. Otherwise, I don't think it's a vehicle worth dropping money on upgrading this truck... it's a great beginners truck to learn how to drive an RC and have fun with... just not one to upgrade and go brushless with if you decide you like the hobby. For the price, I feel it's a great value as a starter truck, about half the price of other vehicles I'd recommend for starters with similar performance... it's just not one to upgrade. I also feel like it's a better starter truck than anything you're going to pick up at the local big box stores as it's the same kind of chassis and setup as your nice hobby grade stuff and it's fully proportional meaning if you turn the steering wheel a little, the wheels turn just a little, if you crank it all the way, the wheels will turn as far as they can as well... and when you pull the trigger, the further you pull it back, the faster it goes. It makes for a much better driving experience which I feel is important for someone trying to learn how to drive an RC. Again, this is a great starter RC or just a good inexpensive truck to rip around. Read more

Got this for my son, arrived just after Christmas; but it is good enough to make up for that. This thing is fast. I don't have a radar gun to clock it at 25mph, but I believe it could be that quick when it is screaming down the road. It has great suspension, it takes bumps very well. It will flip if you hit the right bump at full speed (or even lower speeds at the wrong / right angle), but even there it often ends up going all the way over and continuing on like nothing happened. My son had a ramp set up for it just a simple board at an angle with the curb. It handles the bump and the flight great - about 20% of the time it ends up upside down, the rest it flips over and lands and carries on through the grass. And while it is fast on asphalt, it handles grass / dirt / stumps of plants without issue. It is actually really hard to get it stuck short of actually flipping it upside down. This afternoon the boys spent hours outside racing their cars outside - the other two cars are small and have their own cool features, but this was the undisputed star of the show. They were just having a blast with the speed and cool tricks. The two batteries lasted more than 45 minutes, not going full speed the whole time, but it was well over that. And my son started the first one charging while continuing to play with the second battery, and then switched back when the second one died and played a while longer on the partial charge until it got dark. The range on the transmitter is excellent. 150-250 feet away down the road it was still responsive and not having issues - the car was too far away to practically control, and the remote was still working fine. And it is repairable as well. The manual shows a blown up view of the car, and details out what each part is. Whether you can get them all to repair I don't know, but that is more detail than I have ever gotten on an RC car at this price point. I don't know how long it will last with the abuse they are giving it, but at $40 at the time of review, on a $/hr basis this is great value even if it dies soon. They have already gotten a ton of play time in, and playing with this gets them outside and off screens without nagging. Overall, this is my son's favorite Christmas present, even arriving a day or two late. Impressive Read more
