I had been using a different red light therapy belt for back pain, but it was more of an entry-level model. My biggest frustration was that it lacked an external display. If the battery died mid-session or I accidentally bumped the controller, I had no way of knowing if the belt was still running or what mode it was on without taking it off to check the lights. When I first saw the Renpho belt, it immediately stood out because it addressed all the issues I had with my other device. After using it daily for almost two weeks, I can confidently say this belt is a huge upgrade. It has more light intensities and a much better battery. I also love the heat and vibration, features my previous belt didn’t even have. The control unit is great. It lets me easily set and monitor the different modes, as well as keep an eye on the battery level, all without having to remove the belt. I usually keep the light intensity at P5, the heat level at L1 or L2, and the vibration mode at M1 or M2. The vibration provides a gentle massage, and the built-in heat helps relax my muscles. This belt is very comfortable and easy to adjust. I’ve started wearing it when I take my dogs for walks, and it’s completely unnoticeable under clothing. Another big plus for me is the TPU lining. I can clean it with a damp cloth and mild soap after each use, which I couldn’t do with my other device. Charging takes about four hours, and I get several uses on a single charge. Although this belt is more expensive than my previous one, it feels more premium and well worth the price for the added features. I own two other Renpho products and have been very happy with their quality, and this belt is no exception. With regular use, my back pain has eased noticeably, and I have no complaints! Read more
The wife complained about back ache after cleaning the deck this morning, and this is exactly why I got this Therapy belt. Its very nicely made - with a comfy slightly stretchy waist strap, with velcro pads on the front. I do appreciate that they include an extra 'bigger person' extension. I'm not a small guy, with a 40" waist and I *needed* that extra bit. The control unit is sewn into place on the fabric side. Which ends up being a bit awkward. If the strap is worn as shown in the pictures it ends up facing down, and outwards. That means you have to tilt it up to see it when you're pressing buttons. If you've strapped it on before getting to that point - as instructed - it means you have to loosen it, look at the face, press the *smooth* face to get the wobble, red lights and heat sorted out. Once you've done that though, you can press the power button to lock in the settings ( for 30 minutes). THAT is also necessary as I found just brushing my hand over the control unit ended up registering something and changing the settings. One on, it run for 30 minutes then turns off. It takes a while for the redlight / heat to really register - I'd say about 3 minutes, but once it did it was definitely detectable. On the plus side I really like that it's wireless and doesn't need a socket or have a cord tetheering you to a chair. I could walk around the kitchen, and go about my daily chores while it ran its course. The wife reported that "It feels nice" and "It's very comfy" and "It definitely helped with my back ache". She is now lounging in a living room chair occasionally emitting "Ahhh" and "Mmmm" sounds when I pass by. 5/5 - well made, actually works with accommodations for 'bigger folks'. Read more
This arrived just in time as I strained my back somehow in the last couple of days. Added bonus: it was fully charged out of the box. I really like the three levels of massage, five levels of red light and four levels of heat. The instructions are clear and the unit functions well. There's an extender piece if your girth requires, and a cord to charge via USB. It's cordless, so it's perfect for wearing around the house, working at your desk or in the car on a long drive. Minor quibbles: Because the control module rests in your stomach area, it is way too easy for your arm to brush against it and trigger a change in a function. The control panel is overly responsive, considering where it is. Luckily there's nothing awful about changing a function and it's very easy to change back to whatever your designed massage/red light/heat setting was initially. The other minus: Once you fasten the belt around your waist, you have to peer down at the control panel and basically read upside down to choose your settings. It'd be a good engineering tweak if Renpho could make the control unit swing up, so you could actually see what you're doing. Also, if you're making that tweak, go ahead and add a simple shield over the front of the unit so you don't trigger changes without meaning to. All that aside, my back is very happy with this belt. I really don't know what the red light adds to the product; all I've read on red light therapy has been devoted to facial rejuvenation. So I'll reserve my judgment on that aspect. But for massage and heat alone, this is a great device. Read more
