Very easy to install, good quality construction. I mounted mine with the included screws/anchors into vinyl siding above my garage and the FOV is excellent. Compared to their WiFi wired video doorbell that I also own, it very similar features in the app and also includes the option for email alerts. There are also options to customize the floodlight including brightness and color temperature. I don't have any issues with WiFi stability on a 2.4Ghz network with the router about 3 walls and 20 feet from the router. I did test the audio and it can get fairly loud. The brightness is okay, enough to clearly light up the surrounding 15-20 feet and allow for color video, but not that bright compared to other wired options. One downside is that this device doesn't have any HomeAssistant integration (at least without home hub) which is true of all their battery cameras. There is supposedly a third party integration but I haven't tried it. I also wish there was an option for the light alarm to be on for 60s, right now it only does 30s max after motion is detected. As for the motion sensitivity, battery, etc... I will update this review when I have more feedback. Read more

For the longest time, I struggled with finding a reliable security solution for the far corners of my property where running electrical wires was simply out of the question. Enter the Reolink Solar Floodlight Cam. I was immediately drawn to its completely self-sufficient design, but what truly blew me away was the sheer optical performance. The 2K resolution delivers breathtakingly crisp footage, capturing every essential detail with pristine clarity. Coupled with a massive 150° ultra-wide field of view, this single device manages to monitor my entire driveway and side yard seamlessly, completely eliminating the annoying blind spots I’ve dealt with using narrower lenses. The real magic happens when the sun goes down. Most battery-powered cameras struggle in the dark, but this Reolink model packs two incredibly powerful, adjustable LED panels that pump out up to 1000 lumens of brilliant light. Whenever the highly accurate AI and PIR motion sensors detect activity, those floodlights blast the area with daylight-level illumination. Not only does this immediately trigger stunning, full-color night vision—allowing me to easily identify the color of a vehicle or the clothes someone is wearing—but it also serves as a phenomenal deterrent. Paired with the built-in loud siren, it stops unwanted visitors dead in their tracks before they even get close to the door. What I find most liberating about this system is the true "set it and forget it" nature of the power source. The top-mounted solar panel is incredibly efficient; I’ve found that just an hour or so of decent sunlight is enough to keep the camera fully juiced for the entire day. Even during long stretches of gloomy weather, the massive internal battery easily sustains operation without me ever needing to pull out a charging cable. The hardware itself is built like a tank, boasting a robust IP66 weatherproof rating that has effortlessly shrugged off torrential downpours and biting winds in my yard without skipping a beat. It feels incredibly premium, completely defying the typical flimsy feel of many wireless outdoor accessories. Connectivity is another area where this camera genuinely shines, thanks to the inclusion of dual-band WiFi 6. Whether hooked up to the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band, the live feed loads almost instantly on my phone with zero buffering, which is absolutely crucial when you get a late-night alert and need to see what's happening right that second. The onboard AI motion tracking is wonderfully precise, intelligently filtering out blowing branches or heavy rain to focus solely on genuine threats like people, vehicles, and animals. This smart filtering drastically cuts down on the frustrating false alarms that plague lesser systems, keeping my phone notifications strictly relevant and trustworthy. Ultimately, the Reolink Solar Floodlight Cam has completely transformed how I approach perimeter security. It masterfully bridges the gap between high-end, hardwired surveillance and the sheer convenience of a wireless, solar-powered setup. It provides brilliant illumination, pinpoint 2K clarity, and unshakeable reliability without adding a single cent to my electric bill or requiring a weekend of drilling through exterior walls. If you are looking to dramatically upgrade your outdoor security with a highly capable, intelligent, and fiercely bright guardian, this exceptional camera is an absolute game-changer. Read more

I own a number of Reolink cameras, in multiple styles, both solar/battery and powered. Already of course have the Reolink app, so getting camera setup was fast and easy. I have mixed feelings about this one after giving it a bit of a try. It is very compact and easy to install given the mounted solar panel. The "floodlights" do give a bit broader light coverage than the "spotlights" on other Reolink cameras. Just be aware that they are not much brighter, certainly nothing like having some AC 200-300W infrared floods. So far so good. What I am less enthusiastic about is the mounting and solar panel positioning. The cameras comes with a mount that attaches the camera by its rear to a surface. Not much flexibility, and of course the solar panel is fixed on top. While Reolink says this panel needs just one hours of direct sun per day, my experience has been that this requires the direct sun to hit the panel nearly perpendicularly, much an angle and power output drops quickly. What these things mean for this camera is that it is only going to be appropriate for certain places on a house. Must consider where it attaches and how the sun will strike its panel. While it could be a good choice for certain positions, I frankly would prefer one of the tracking cameras with detached solar panels, since they are much more flexible. Read more
