Perfect: There were zero molding flaws on the 15 and 25 pound plates. When molds are dented, the result is bumps on the rubber. They were perfect. And there was zero flash-trash were bits of rubber are molded in that were release agent contaminated. The result of that can be bits that flake off. I aired the plate out outside for a few hours, then washed in hot water with Dawn dish soap to remove mold release that gave them a greasy feel. They washed up very nicely and I recommend a microfiber cloth for that and a soft brush or old tooth brush to get in the corners of the raised lettering. That seemed to eliminate odor very well. With all of the mold release agent used, I do not understand how the raised lettering white paint adheres. None came off with the washing. So execution seems perfect. And this brand has internal reinforcements that prevent the molded inserts from twisting out of the rubber. That can happen with drop abuse, more so with lighter/thinner plates. [Unrelated: I found that one end of my [old] Mpex Olympic bar is not only over sized [2 inch diameter] but tapered as well. So I am in the market for new bar and with some research I see that this problem has occurred for others. At first I suspected one of the weights was tight then my machinist's calipers showed me were the problem was. My old Mpex plates were sloppy enough that the problems with the bar were hidden. The problem with the one end of the bar also makes the use of clamp style clamps somewhat impossible and may be behind some reports of plastic clamps failing immediately.] Written by an Engineer. I ordered a pair of 15lbs and a pair of 25lbs and they look amazing! Did not come with oil all over them or have a bad smell like most reviews. Have been in my room since opened and you can not smell them at all. Very low odor and the 15’s can definitely be used by themselves. They are super sturdy! I don’t know how these don’t get anything but five stars. I was doing a lot of research for bumper plates and to be honest the main reason I went with these was because they were on amazon and I got free shipping. Damn I’m glad I did because these are incredible. They are so well made and seem to be durable as hell. Every one of them was perfect and I didn’t get the smell other reviewers were talking about. Although they are in my garage. The smell may be bad if they were inside but they are made of rubber so that’s to be expected. I love these plates. I was so excited to do deadlifts when they came. I got them in the mail in three different delivery’s. They came 3 days sooner than expected. Don’t hesitate and stop researching other plates. Just buy these you won’t regret it. Read more

Beautiful bumper plates. I use them for at home deadlifts and squats, add iron plates on the side if I need extra on the bar. Durability seems top notch for the price, but I don’t drop the bar and my floors are carpeted, so can’t say much regarding durability for hardcore Olympic lifts where the bar is dropped from overhead onto hard floors regularly. Advertised as virgin rubber so the odor should be minimal out of the box, but it took a couple months in my room with the gym equipment for the off gassing smell to go away. Can barely smell it now. Highly recommend if you’re in the market for quality bumper plates at a great price point! Read more

We got a set of these for our home gym and they do the trick. They're solid, shipped quickly, and though we haven't had them long appear durable. They have no noticeable odor which is nice for a basement gym set up. Compared to other bumper plates these were a very good value. One of the plates arrived a day later than the others. I contacted Rep Fitness and they got back to me immediately and tracked down the other item and let me know when it would arrive the next day. Sure enough, it did. I have own them for a month, so I can not speak on the durability of yet. So far, they have been able to hold up well on the bar during dead lifts. The 10 lb plates do wobble by themselves while the bar is on the floor. But that is my experience with most rubber plates like this. Overall, I think is best for new or intermediate lifters who want to build a descent home gym. There are better plates out there if you are willing to pay the price. But these plates are great value to anyone. Read more

I absolutely love this set in our newly constructed, complete home gym. The bumper plates look and feel great, and a minor shipping issue was promptly rectified by Rep directly. They were awesome to deal with, and went above and beyond...great experience. The plates did have the expected rubber smell on arrival, but we left them outside to air out for a few days before bringing them inside. Much of the smell was gone at that point, however it did still smell just like a gym for a few more days inside our home gym (20x15 room size). Now a week later, no more rubber smell! We couldn't be more pleased, and would easily recommend the product and the Rep company. We also purchased the matching Olympic weight tree from Rep (through Amazon) and are equally pleased. Read more
