I recently ordered and used these earplugs when I traveled under some stressful circumstances. Always a light sleeper, I do not sleep well in hotel rooms. I hear every noise! Well, using these earplugs helped me to get some rest during the nights. I found the plugs easy to use. They are readily moldable in your fingers so that you can find the proper shape to fit your ears. They were easy to insert, and they were very comfortable. I didn't want them to suppress all noise, needing to hear my alarm in the morning, and of course, I didn't want to sleep through something like a fire alarm, should such occur, either. (I have had to evacuate a hotel once.) These plugs blocked hallway and outside noise nicely. I also appreciated that the package includes a little box with a single pair--all ready for travel! They were easy to store on the nightstand. I have purchased numerous kinds of earplugs over my lifetime...and none of them worked well at all. I was introduced to wax earplugs by my husband when I first rode on the back of his touring motorcycle. Surprise: it’s not the engine but the wind noise that the rider hears most intensely! We wear them in comfort all day, able to hear each other speaking with “indoor voices” over inside-helmet Bluetooth intercom, arriving less fatigued at the end of the day’s journey. I liked the wax earplugs he has supplied me so much, I searched for a set of my own and found these in time for cross-country air travel. Very happy with the performance against jet engines and painfully loud intercom announcements and announcement signal pings. I could converse with my seat mates and rest peacefully overnight as well. Performance was as expected. And I was pleased that they didn’t leave a blue stain in my ears like others I’ve used. These easily customized earplugs come with two storage cases - for the set and for a pair discreetly stowed in pocket or purse. No reason not to bring them everywhere! Use them and reuse them many times, then go on to the next pair. (Past experience with a similar product was that they get less malleable over time, and a bit dingy warmed and rolled in dirty hands; I can only speculate with my new set that I’ll know when it’s time for a fresh pair.) We live in a loud world! I suspect many are losing their hearing earlier in life than in the past. My Lessons Learned: 1. Movie theaters have been too loud for years. Out of concern for our hearing, we always equipped our children with earplugs on our family movie outings. The last time I went to a movie with my daughter and grandchild, I forgot to bring earplugs. I had to leave after 20 minutes after no response to a request to lower the volume. The pain persisted for two days! I need to keep a pair of these with me at all times. This set makes it easy. 2. I attended my first and last indoor rock concert about 40 years ago; spent the whole concert with my hands over my ears. (F*** that!) As a classically trained musician, I knew I could not afford to lose one of my best assets: excellent hearing! 3. My husband’s career also depends on acute hearing. From industrial hearing protection to headsets for home power tool usage to motorcycle riding with wax earplugs that fit very comfortably under a helmet, he doesn’t mess around concerning his hearing. These earplugs are unlike any i have seen before. Upon opening, they have a large gumdrop like appearance and texture. They have the pliablility of play-doh and easily mold to your ear shape. They are very comfortable, even for side sleepers like myself. They stay completely put throughout the night even though i toss and turn ferociously. Noise cancelation was good. I could still hear the loud fan very faintly which was fine as i find that comforting. I believe if a very loud noise happened or my dogs were to bark i would beable to hear it which is important to me. I was able to hear an alarm still. This design is far superior to any others i have tried. I get bothered by small noises other people are able to ignore and that keeps me awake all night in seething anger. These did not give me complete and total silence, but very close. i do not want total silence, as i feel the need to be aware of my surroundings still. After putting them back into the case i noticed that they begin forming back into their original gumdrop shape. So overall this is a quality product for a reasonable price that delivers on the promise of a good night's sleep. Read more
