When my hair dryer died on me I came on here to look for another. I had NO idea there were so many! I got online and did some extensive hair dryer research. Not only are there so many but there are SEVERAL different types, as well. There are different wattages. When shopping for a hair dryer, you want to purchase one which has a wattage in the range of 1800 to 2000. A hair dryer that has high wattage, such as this one, will have more wind power and will cut down your styling time without having the damaging, excessive heat. I've noticed a big cut down in drying time, using this dryer. My hair is SUPER thick and coarse so it takes a great blow dryer for my hair to get the job done. Being that this dryer is IONIC it's going to be much more effective at scattering the water on the hair shaft, preventing it from soaking in and causing that ugly frizz we all don't want. Ionic blow dryers also speed up dry time. Since it is also CERAMIC, it's going to evenly distribute the heat as evenly and gently as possible. It makes the heat less harsh and more consistent in temperature. CERAMIC hair dryers also emit negative ions which will also speed up drying time and smooth frizz. As if the stated above wasn't enough, this dryer is also an INFRARED one which means it uses longer energy wavelengths to penetrate the hair and dry it from the inside out. I couldn't BELIEVE that I had found a hair dryer that is IONIC, CERAMIC AND INFRARED, as well as having the perfect wattage. Also, the price is a very big plus. You won't find a better hair dryer at this price. Revlon has really outdone themselves with this product. It is also beautiful in design and has the perfect grip. I love the gray and pearlish colors. This is an excellent hair dryer. I liked it so well that my daughter tried it out and she decided that she wanted one too. So this is hers. I like the two special attachments that came with the dryer. One was the clear concentrator and the other was the clear diffuser. They are both very useful in getting the style you like for your hair. The biggest selling point of this hair dryer is the Infrared technology that dries the core of the hair follicle safely and efficiently. It keeps your hair from getting to hot and burning. Another plus is the Ions that the dryer emits have been proven to eliminate static electricity. There are 2 heat and speed settings for easy styling. I really like how the orange lights on the dryer light up when you are drying your hair. It looks really cool. The price on the dryer is very reasonable. I have had mine for a year now and have had no problems with it. I have recommended this to my daughter and I would also recommend this to a friend. My hair dryer unexpectedly started shorting out so it was time again to research and buy a new one. I don't usually buy Revlon products, but this thing is a beast. It's a little heavier than what I was used to, but the diffuser on the end has become a dear friend. It stays attached & it's large and works like magic on my fine, thin longer hair. It gives my a hair some lift even on days when I don't want to use a lot of product. I've never used the centralizer or whatever it's called - I'm not sure why I would. This thing dries fast, has the perfect amount of options, and I hope it lasts for a few years. Even if it doesn't, at the price I paid it's well worth it. Read more
I read a lot of reviews on a lot a hair dryers and this seemed to be the best for the money spent. I've had it a week now and so far the only drawbacks I can find are as follows: 1) the buttons on the handle can be hit fairly easily. I have turned it off a couple of times while using. 2) the handle is a little "skinny". Not as fat handled as my last blow dryer. and 3) the cool shot button is right where my finger wants to lay. Now with that being said, here are the pluses. IT DRYS GREAT AND QUICK on my short, bobbed hairstyle and works well when I use a round brush as I am drying. It is NOT heavy, actually it's light weight for a full size dryer. The diffuser and concentrating end of the dryer will likely not see any action so I cannot speak to those attachments. I really like this hairdryer. I bought it because I was looking for a hairdryer with a diffuser and this one got good reviews and had a decent price. I've only been using it with the diffuser so I can't attest to how it is on high/heat, but the hairdryer doesn't get hot (to be fair, I've mostly used it on warm/low setting) and the buttons don't get in the way when I'm holding on to it. The diffuser gets a little warm, but not so warm that I can't put it right up against my head. I have thick, wavy/curly hair and if I just hold the diffuser up to my scalp in one place (without "combing" it through or anything) it dries my hair so I don't have to go out into the cold with wet hair. I just finger comb styling gel through my hair then dry it with the diffuser and it's wavy without having the big volume I get when I blow dry it normally (see picture - hard to take a picture of the back of your own head! I bought this in 2018, and 7 years later it still works It’s perfectly fine but I was just looking at the hype of a high end dryer so I came back here to see what the features of mine are and it reminded me to be happy with what I have. It’s working, it does a good job. There are no magic tools. They all require you to put the effort to create a style. I guess the marketing on some of these newer dryers just make them seem so magical. Read more
