I buy a few of these a year so I always have a good one on hand. This nail buffer has a good assortment of grit/finishes so I can use what I need to get the result I want. I almost never use the black side which is the coarsest and like an original emery board, but I use all the other sides regularly. It's great that there is firm padding underneath the buffing material to keep from pushing to hard and over-buffing. I get a good finish on my nails even though I have fairly noticeable ridges. I don't buff them until they are flat as that would make my nails too weak and brittle. My only complaint is that I think these multi-sided buffers are a bit over priced and it can be difficult to read the number & name of the side (in case I forgot and it's a bit hard to tell by feel). This is my favorite nail buffer for quick at-home nail days. It’s simple, does exactly what I need and makes my nails look clean and shiny without needing polish.
