It works.

This was not our first choice for a Santa Belly from the options available on Amazon, but we were on a tight deadline for an early holiday event and this was one of the few that was Prime eligible and less than $30. There's a better looking non-Prime option out there for $25-ish that offers two day shipping, but what they don't tell you is that two-day shipping will be an additional $25. The photo is a little unclear on what you get, so allow me to clarify: it's essentially an apron with a big round, top loading pocket for stuffing, with some straps that go around your waist and neck. The opening of the pocket is as wide as the white line seen in the photo going across the belly. Stuffing is not included, so you will have to provide your own (pillow, stuffed animal stuffing, whatever). The red leggings in the photo are not attached nor included, nor (as I had already expected) were any of the other Santa items included in the photo. The stitching is so-so - we stuffed a slightly over sized pillow in as a test and you could hear it rip a bit. The top of the pocket includes no closing mechanism (velcro, stitching, buttons or whatever) so you'll have to figure out how to do it yourself (we settled for oversized safety pins). If you need to make a skinny guy fat and already have your own Santa accoutrements, it works. But if you have just a bit more money and time, I'm sure there are better options out there. Read more
