No frills kit that works for light work
For the price I can't complain, the items were no frills, but that was to be expected. Worked for my diy networking needs, but if you're doing more work I'd say the cable reader would need an upgrade. Read more
Great all-in-one network tool kit
Picked this up for some home networking projects and it has everything I need. The crimper works smoothly, connectors fit well, and the extra tools like the punchdown and stripper come in handy. Nice to have everything in one kit. Read more

I had an issue with the meter.
I didn't use any of the other tools after the cable tester started smoking when I put the battery in. I suppose the other tools would have worked just fine. This is why I'm giving this set 3 stars instead of 1. Read more
Complete Network Kit
This has everything you need to install Ethernet cabling. It has a punch-down tool for connections to a patch panel or Ethernet wall plates. It has a pass-through crimp tool for making Ethernet cables. It also has a wire cutter, Phillips head screwdriver, wire stripper, and something you rarely find these days, INSTRUCTIONS. They all come in one rigid plastic case. While the case is handy for storage and transport to the job, it can be ridiculously hard to remove some of the tools, and even harder to get them back in place. I'm new to pass-through Ethernet connectors, and I recently got a tool that looks nearly identical. These do a fine job creating network cables and leave a clean cut and neat connection in one simple motion. I leave the other one at one of my offices, but carry this kit around to other areas that need networking work. The tone generator, or the fox and the hound, or the wire tracer, whatever you want to call it, was okay finding where a connection went from a patch panel to a wall plate. However, if you want to find where a wall plate is connected to a patch panel, the results are not quite as good. The patch panel obviously has many connection in a tight space, and the sensor sounds off on any connection near the one you're looking for. It does work well testing network cables, which is a necessity if you're making your own cables. Keep in mind that you will need to provide 2 9-Volt batteries for the testing tools. The price only seems a little high because of other kits that are similarly stocked and are priced appreciably lower. However, it only takes a few uses of this comprehensive set to pay for itself.
