Simple set up, works great
Turned my dumb 55" TV into a smart TV, for $30 instead of $600 for a new TV. Ended my $260/mo cable TV and coax internet, now streaming on high speed fiber with wireless interface to router. Set up is super simple, and in 20 minutes I was all set up with apps loaded and logged on for several movie/TV bundles. Streams very smoothly with no pauses or jerkiness, no difference in picture or video quality compared to the HD cable service. I got tired of the slow speed and low storage of Fire TV Sticks. I decided to give Roku a try and WOW!!! So responsive and smooth! You still can use all your current subscriptions but the user interface is bright clear and above all, smooth and crisp. Amazon is resting on it's laurels when it comes to TV technology but Roku is reaching for the stars. If you have a doubt, so did I but I gave it a shot and IT'S AMAZING! Works like a charm for an elderly woman.
It was very easy to install with clear instructions. I have had it for a few months and there have been no issues. I love having programs from the 90's (Cheers & Frazier) to recall those times. Best of all, to finally view Downton Abbey in its entirety! I did have some trouble with understanding certain characters accents, but having the option of rewinding and viewing the text was extremely helpful. Read more
