My 15 year old is always wanting to make ice cream, the last one we bought was quite a bit more complicated than this one so I got this instead for her to use and she absolutely loves it! This is so easy my 10 year old can easily use this. I used to work at cold stone creamery so I was getting some very fun nostalgic vibes while watching my kids have fun with this. This isnt huge, comes with a cover and its own scrapers. Works very well and it is fun to use for my kids. Decent for the price, my kids love it so i would probabaly buy it again at some point. This rolled ice cream maker seemed like the perfect gift for my elementary school son who's an aspiring chef. The initial instructions were easy enough: freeze the tray upside down with the lid on. But then things started to fall apart. The booklet doesn't contain any recipes so we had to find one online that said one cup of heavy cream for every half cup of sweetened condensed milk. We also didn't know how much to put on the tray at a time to get it to freeze. Another web search revealed that the tray can only handle a half cup at a time to get it to freeze effectively. So that's what we used. There were no instructions about how to stir other than vigorously back and forth. It also didn't say how to roll the ice cream, only to hold the spatulas at a 45° angle. The first time went well. We almost achieved a set of rolls but it was more like several folds. The next time was a frozen lump and the time after that it was a semi-frozen blob. I know the listing said that it's supposed to stay frozen for up to a half hour, but we didn't experience that. It took longer and longer to achieve a freeze each time. Maybe we would have had better luck if all of our ingredients had had time to chill before being poured. This lacks recipes and instructions to make it easy to use. So, if you're not already familiar with the recipes and techniques, this might not be a great buy. Read more

We were not at all impressed with this product. We put it in the freezer to cool and that worked as planned. We followed the directions for making the ice cream but it didn't work out. We couldn't get it to roll at all. It just sort of broke up into chips. Maybe with alot more practice abd patience it would work. However I got it fir the kids and it left them more frustrated and disappointed than excited. I also think the tray is too small because once you do get it rolling you're out of space. Read more

We enjoy ice cream on occasion, but our big ice cream maker always produces more than we really need. When I saw this rolled ice cream maker, I figured it would be a great way to make just enough for dessert, and it didn't disappoint. One of my favorite things about this product is how compact it is. It takes up far less space than the liner for a crank‑style ice cream maker, and it’s small enough that I can just leave it in the freezer so it’s always ready to go, though I do wonder how long the rubber band holding the lid to the plate will last. It also goes from liquid ingredients to ice cream in literally a few minutes. Having never made rolled ice cream before, I tried a simple recipe using heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and a little peanut butter. The mixture was a bit chunky, so it didn’t spread quite as thin as the directions suggest. It took several minutes for the surface to lose its gloss and fully freeze. I haven’t mastered the rolling technique yet; mine still comes off in flat chunks, but from everything I’ve read, that’s just part of the learning curve. One thing that really impressed me is how long the plate stays frozen. It stayed cold enough to freeze three servings, each taking over five minutes to work with, and I’m pretty sure I could have made a few more batches off a single overnight freeze. Overall, my family is really enjoying this compact, easy‑to‑use, and surprisingly quick little ice cream maker. It’s a fun way to make small batches without the fuss of a full‑size machine. And it's going to be a lot of fun mastering my ice cream rolling skills! Read more

This is a fantastic and easy way to make the absolute best ice cream at home! We are ice cream LOVERS in this family and nothing beats making it with just 3-4 ingredients. This little roll tray is perfect! Pros: no pre freezing ingredients needed! You don’t need to plan for ice cream 24 hours in advance (looking at YOU Ninja Creami). To be clear, you do need to pre freeze the tray, but I just store it in the freezer so we’re always ready when I feel like it! It absolutely works and works fast. My toddler loves helping and it’s such an easy process he actually can help. Cons: none really. I haven’t gotten the ice cream to actually roll, but I can tell it’s because I’m making my layers too thick. I don’t really care if it’s rolled though so for me it’s not something I care to try to perfect. Read more

Honestly, this is great. I am not an everyday dessert person, but I am an ice cream fan. However, I hate having the chunky containers taking up so much room in my freezer. This is such a great alternative! This has a slim profile, comes with two spatulas, a lid and rubber band, and makes your fresh ice cream in minutes. With that being said, the instructions could have been more expansive. Super basic about proper storage freezing techniques and how to hold the spatulas was about it. Ratios, spread thickness, and recipes would have been super helpful. Although inconvenient, nothing that a few quick online searches didn't remedy. As with anything, there is a learning curve...ratios, thickness of spread, etc. Yet once you get it down though, it is awesome. Perfect for portion control, easy to store, easy to clean, and endless options to make your own delicious ice cream. Read more
