So I am basically just your average family man who happens to be into knives, both folding (pocket) knives and kitchen knives (I cook a lot). I own several high quality japanese kitchen knives and over a dozen pocket knives. I also own whetstones and the Work Sharp sharpening system, which I've had for a few years. The problem with both stones and the Work Sharp system is that the knives still have to be held at the proper angle (manually by eye) in order to use them successfully. The Work Sharp system cuts down on time but at the end of the day, you still have to hold the knives correctly and STEADILY to get good results. The bottom line is I'm not that great at it. I have managed to keep a decent cutting edge on my knives over the years but certainly nothing special....until now. I am incredibly impressed with this package. First of all, the quality of everything in the kit is great, including the case. There are slots for each individual item, even the eraser! It is magnificently SIMPLE to use and makes no noise, unlike the Work Sharp system which is unfortunately loud, not to mention much more complicated. I literally just received this about an hour ago and already used it on my three main kitchen knives, the results I got are shocking. I was in no way able to get this kind of edge on my knives using the Work Sharp, no matter how long I did it for. The simple reason is because of what I mentioned above - the angle has to be held manually...it doesn't with this kit. The magnetic block that holds the knife is extremely strong, even the largest knives don't move even when being ground with the 400 grit stone. And the angle can be precisely set with the adjustment wheel. The other side that holds the stones is perfectly designed with little wheels on the bottom that move very smoothly (and silently). It still takes a little time to get a hair popping edge, but again its so easy to use that you can learn to do it fast and really can't mess it up. I am so glad I laid out the 140 bucks for the full kit, it is so well worth the money. If you know how to use whetstones and are good with them, you have no reason to buy something like this. But for the average guy like me, it is well worth it. It has to be the quickest and easiest way to get professional results, which it absolutely does deliver. Read more

This is the best sharpening system for kitchen cutlery I've used, and I've been through a lot of kits and stones. First off, the magnets for the knife is very strong. No issue holding them in place, any size knife. The adjustable angle is why I originally purchased it and it's very functional for all types of blades. I primarily use a 15 degree though. The stone holder roller side is very smooth with the upgraded rubber wheels. It tracks very straight. The fact that you can adjust the stone up or down works very well for all blade heights. No issue with the stones coming out since the edges on the holder are raised. It's nice to have 3 stones. The low grit really isn't needed unless you need to bring back an edge from the dead, but they will last years with regular at home use. Functionality: easy. Anyone can use this and get a professional and razor sharp edge. Theres a bit of a learning curve, but it comes quick. You have to be cognizant though of blades that want to deflect away from the pressure of the stove on the edge, so you have to ensure that you follow the flex with the stone holder. If you maintain that contact the whole way through, you will get a perfect edge As well, the customer service is top notch. They have answered all my inquiries very fast. Read more

I have several different knife sharpening solutions and am always on the lookout for something easy to use that doesn't require a lot of skill or muscle memory to use - basically something "anyone can do." This system fits the bill, and is kind of fun to use at the same time. It takes a lot of guesswork out of keeping the right angle which is nice, plus not being forced into exact angles is good for sharpening blades with odd ones. The instructions are well done and informative, I reckon they would be considered excellent by someone new to the concept. I didn't bother with the instructions when I unpacked the box, having previously watched a few videos. I just grabbed the kitchen knife block and went at it. I was a bit embarrassed when I finished, because the knives were much sharper than my previous sharpening with another system. As I finished each knife my wife tested them on various foods, and she was very satisfied with the exceptionally thin tomato slicing. The following day I blasted through several racks of ribs with the cleaver and was pleasantly surprised. One thing I will point out - the wheels on the rolling part are rubber and quite small, so you will need a very smooth surface to run the wee cart on. They grip nicely and don't wander unless you intentionally force them off their path. Once you get the motion down it's smooth sailing. I would absolutely recommend this kit to others, it is a quality addition to whatever you currently have in your workshop. Read more

The media could not be loaded. Park Views Knife Sharpening Kit – Exactly What I Needed As a chef I’ve owned just about every type of knife sharpener — electric sharpeners, whetstones, “ninja” sharpeners, and tumblers. This kit feels like the perfect blend of a tumbler and sharpening stones. If you’ve ever used a tumbler, you know it typically works off two settings (15° or 20°), and you sharpen by rolling. That’s fine until you try it with a large blade — then you’re always running the risk of slicing your hand. Park View completely eliminated that concern for me and made the process far easier and safer. The product feels sturdy and well-made, not cheap or flimsy. I just sharpened one of my knives and saw great results right away — clean, sharp edges without the hassle. Very impressed. Park View deserves the praise. Read more
