This toolbag is pretty great. The bottom is hard so it doesn't end up looking like your pile of laundry on the floor. Inside the bag there are pencil holder type pockets/slots sewn into the sides. They're not very deep and the bag's not very tall, so I can't really fit my screwdrivers in them. I suppose they would work better in the bigger model of this bag. Right now I just stuffed the silicone moisture absorbers that came with the bag in them until I figure out something to do with them. The side pockets aren't meant for anything bulky, perhaps a small notepad or map. I guess you could try to fit a very small handbook in one. It's a bit difficult to button the brass buttons on the flaps, and what I've had to do to snap them shut is to reach into the pocket with my index finger and snap them shut that way, with my thumb outside. As for durability, the bag seems tough and feels tough, we'll just have to see how they wear. I like the sturdy and solid feel of the brass zippers. Read more

Just as described. I have multiple bags like this for tools, straps, etc. and never have had one fail. Zipper being the worry, but the brass zippers are great. Read more

Perhaps it was the nostalgic lure of the product image that reminded me of my childhood days wandering through the old military surplus and Army/Navy stores that caught my eye. Whatever it was, it worked. I currently have 6 in use and need another. These flexible ditty bags are the same durable canvas quality of the Mil-Spec bags of old...and with heavy-duty brass zippers. They are fantastic gear bags for fishing, hunting, camping, auto & ATV tool kits. Many tools today do not come with carrying cases. These bags are great for creating tool kits for specific purposes...and I like to create my own kits. I’ve seen professional craftsmen like plumbers and electricians dig for 15 minutes in a box the size of a double-wide bathtub filled with a 20 year collection of job related odds and ends. Sometimes they actually find what they are looking for. Perhaps the search and discovery is part of the fun. Personally, I’d rather have what I need when I need it and know where to find it. What’s wrong with organization? The first-aid kits on the market today offer too much of what I don’t need and not enough of what I do need, so, I build my own according to my special needs. This bag works perfectly for me. Cheap first-aid kits in plastic containers will break and spill the contents all over the ground...and shards of broken plastic will cut flesh and none of the kits I’ve seen even contain Celox or QuikClot. One caveat: If you are thinking of buying your wife one for a make-up or overnight kit, you might want to reconsider. Read more

I am tired of reading poor reviews of this bag with comments stating the bag is too small. The bag is exactly as the product description states: Product Description This heavyweight canvas mechanic's tool bag from Rothco will keep you organized and ready at a moment's notice! The interior is spacious for larger tools, with 8 tool pouches on the sides to keep your other gear neat and orderly. The exterior has a large pocket on each side which closes with snap closures for paperwork, pens, or other accessories you might need. The bag shuts with a large zipper and can be carried by the two durable handles in the center. The bag measures 11" x 7" x 6". I ordered this bag because it is the perfect size to store and carry boxes of 9mm ammo. Mine currently has 9 boxes of 50ct. ammo in it with room for more. It fits perfectly in the main storage area of my large GPS range bag with room to still carry three pistols in separate cases. Over all, this bag is well made, rugged and has a very heavy duty zipper. It has slim pouch on each outer side and a series of loops on both inner walls. If you need a small tough bag to keep things organized then don't hesitate to buy this bag. Read more

I received this Rothco G.I. tool bag with brass zipper arriving very quickly and well packaged for shipment. The exterior of the bag is canvas and strong material that will endure time. The zipper is made of brass and is strong and much better than other bags that have plastic and don't last long when used over time which is another fine feature. The size of the bag is as described, and is good for holding sockets, ratchets and wrenches and some small pliers and screwdrivers. This is one of my three tool bags that I have that hold specific types of tools for my truck only. My other bags are filled for my passenger car, and one for tools needed for around the house usage. I am very happy that I have made a purchase of this brand of tool bag, and tell others that they won't be be dissappointed in getting one. The product is rated as a 5***** and you will surely will get your moneys worth. Read more

My husband carries a lot with him when he goes out. This bag keeps it all together and organized. The material is tough and lasts a long time. He does not handle it with gentleness in any way, yet it holds up. Tough heavy duty zipper keeps everything tucked inside. Lots of pockets too. I only have to replace when he spills something on it for the most part. Read more
