I tried on the cheaper costume as well as this deluxe one in a store and found the deluxe was the only way to go, as the other fits very loose and seems like it would fall apart quick. This deluxe costume held up great though. When I got the costume I first got rid of the dicky that it came with and used an actual dress shirt and tie, I think most people would agree that's the way to go. I took the costume and painted on some mold spots and rolled around in some dirt to get it looking gritty. It fit fine except the pants kept coming undone and I had to use a pin to hold them together. It has a zipper but no button, just velcro, and it's pretty weak. The costume was a hit and I wore it to my school costume contest and won first place! I also did Beetlejuices voice and mannerisms which helped a lot. If you but this costume, it'll work great but you'll want to make it your own a bit! Read more

It was definitely cheap but you get what you pay for. It worked great for a halloween costume. Read more

the best advise I can give is to buy the larger size. I'm 5'9", 200lbs, athletic build and I definitely needed an x-large. The pants are elastic and you can pull them up to your armpits if needed. I tucked mine in my socks to give the impression I was wearing boots. The material is flimsy & light but doesn't fall apart. The inner shirt is literally a bib that ties around the back. It all worked for my purposes but if you want to wear a real shirt & tie, the jack would accommodate it. Enjoyed every second I had it on!!! Read more

You only turn 40 once right? So who doesn't want to have a costume party in April! I had an '80s themed party where people could either dress up as stereotype '80s or an '80s character. Me and my partner decided to dress up as Beetlejuice and Lydia. Because I'm extra (lol) I decided to sew my own dress costume. I did not have time to make one for my partner. He is 6 ft 3 in tall and around 320 lb. This fit him perfectly. It was not too sheer, but you could see through it a bit. He did not wear the little dicky underneath, I purchased him a short sleeve white button up and black tie to wear with the "suit". He said it was comfortable and we both had a great time at the party. 10/10 recommend Read more

I purchased both this costume and the deluxe version, both in "Standard" size. Neither one of the costumes includes the wig or makeup. Of the two versions I much prefer the deluxe costume. For reference I am 5'11", 195 lbs and wear a 42 Regular. The standard costume (Rubie's #888735) uses a shiny, satin-esque, very thin material. The jacket has a single dot of Velcro where the button should be and the lapels are backed with foam, which look like they will flip over to expose the reverse and ruin the look of the costume. The included dickie with tie is very small, it only covers the front and ends just below the chest area. The jacket is snug in the armpits and the sleeves are too long, but sized correctly across the chest. I did not try on the pants but they have a cinch and tie closure similar to pajamas. The deluxe costume (Rubie's #888736) uses a matte woven fabric that more closely resembles suit-type material. The jacket features a single button closure. It fits snug in the armpits, the sleeves are the correct length, but if i button it I need to suck in my gut in order to prevent it from stretching and pulling at the button. The lapels on the deluxe jacket have a much better appearance over the standard version but the jacket is not lined. The included dickie with tie comes down almost to the waist on the front and the back, and it has strings on the sides to tie it. Again, I did not try on the pants but they also use a cinch and tie closure. I plan on wearing my own white shirt and black tie to complete the costume. For me it was worth the extra cost for the deluxe version of the costume. If you are more cost-conscious, the standard version looks fine. Read more

Everything people don't tell you: Husband is 5' 10 1/2"; 180 lbs and not large boned. Purchased and XL and it works perfectly. Velcro on shirt isn't hold worthy but nothing that can't be pinned or use your own Velcro. Plenty of comfort room to wear something underneath if outside and it's cold. Read more

This costume is garbage. The entire thing is made out of thin see-thru polyester and almost all the edges are un-hemmed and have strings hanging from them. Additionally, your "shirt" is a dickie that barely comes down to your waist and you have to tie it in back to keep it in place. The tie doesn't look like a tie. The arms are like long pant legs and the pant legs are like short arms. It's a bizarre fit. The costume in the photo has clearly been altered to fit the model because it looks nothing like it. If you look at other reviews you'll see several people had to alter theirs as well. To make matters worse, the entire costume must be held together with 1 ply thread and prayers because when I returned it they said it was "obviously worn." That's what happens when you try on a costume you thought was going to be your size. Had I known it was so oddly small in the chest (mine was supposed to be 50 inches), I would have never tried to put it over my head. (I did not base my feedback off of this tidbit, but the seller only gave me 50% credit back because of all this so be careful. My feedback is based on the product alone). Read more
