Rubies Costume Star Wars Darth Vader Deluxe Adult Costume

So this year, my family & I decided to do a Star Wars theme. I saw this & was a little unsure as to the quality vs the great price. When I opened it up, it is cheaply made, but it holds together well. The quality is about what I expected for $30 bucks, but it looks awesome! My 5 year old son (who was Luke) had several epic light saber battles. The costume held up great! Everywhere we went, it was totally a hit! Best money I've spent on a costume! If you want something that is high quality, expect to shell out the cash. If you want something that is cheep & easy, while also looks amazing, then this is it! I would totally do this again! I'm so glad I read the reviews first before placing my order. My son normally wears an adult large in clothing. Since some reviewers stated that this costume runs small I took a chance and ordered the Darth Vader costume sized XL Adult size. It fits my son perfectly! I also ordered the Darth Vader gloves, an electronic Darth Vader face mask (with 15+ phrases), and a red electronic light saber to accessorize with my son's Halloween costume. Read more

XL version. I'm 6Ft 260 with a big upper body (shoulders, chest, arms). I was worried that it wouldn't fit but it fits great. There is velcro in the back that just fits but otherwise it's a good fit. The foam pieces that everyone keeps complaining about are not bad at all. I mean it's a 50 dollar costume so your obviously not going to turn heads at any conventions. It goes great for my family star wars theme (daughter Leia, son luke, wife jedi). The belt ties in the back so that isn't the best looking. The Cape velcros to the shoulders. The material is thin so don't free ball with it so wear undies unless you want to creep people out with your dong. The shin pads are kinda lame and bend easy since they go all the way down where your shoes will go. Back to the foam pieces. Chest, shoulders, cod piece, belt attachment, and shins are all the foam which will bend if you don't store it right (I hung mine up) The mask. It looks decent but isn't a full head mask and secures with a very flimsy/skinny velcro strap thing in the back. I bought the upgraded full head mask and am very happy with it. Vader mask is only a half, there is no back, which is not accurately pictured. The plastic lenses in the mask are horribly warped and not functional to look out of. Don't waste your time or money on this product. We did not take the actual costume, just looked at the mask and knew it would not work for a costume. Read more

Ordered this for my husband and got the x-large because I read the reviews beforehand. They were right. My husband is 6'1 and usually a large, but I got an x-large just in case and it fit perfectly. My husband objected as he said he didn't want to feel fat, but the sizes run a bit small. Worse case scenario, you can always get it taliored. It's always better to get larger sizes in my opinion. It looked awesome for halloween though, and we're excited to do the "Star Wars" theme again this upcoming year. Read more

The fam is doing a SW theme this year, so, naturally, I have to be the father of all evil! I have been looking for a good costume that won't break the bank. This is a decent, happy medium. Pros: Good value for the item. I have been looking for a Darth Vader costume and kept on finding the cheap-looking onesie that is just silk screened. This one looked to be of a bit higher quality. The foam pieces make a big difference and for an extra $10, it is a good buy. And, from a distance, it looks pretty darn good. Fits as expected Cons: It doesn't really look like the photograph. The fabric is quite thin and will require dark clothing underneath to not be too revealing! It is not very durable. After a quick fitting today, it already ripped on the side (and I am not that big of a guy). And, the biggest complaint of all: NO HELMET! The packaging clearly says that the mask is included, but it was not in the packaging. After having looked at the previous reviews of this item, it seems to be a common item missing...but inexplicably so! How can you be Darth Vader without the mask????? Read more
