Perfect costume for our Wizard of Oz theme! My husband likes unique costumes, and this was absolutely perfect for him! He is 5’11” and 175lbs, and prefers large for size reference. It was just the right size on him. The costume comes with two head pieces, two gloves, two shoe covers, the toga dress part, then the three signs that attach via Velcro which are easily removed. You could add more leaves if you want, there aren’t very many, but my husband liked it as is. He said it was comfortable, but was getting really warm being indoors. Read more

It's a pretty good costume......if you make some modifications. The shoe covers are pretty worthless. The LONG fingers are neat, but very flimsy. I stuffed the fingers on my gloves with cloth to make them more rigid. The hat can be filled out by placing something soft inside of it to expand it a bit. I also added extra fabric leaves to my costume. Read more

This is higher quality than I expected, especially given the reviews on here. The trunk sheath and hood fit nicely, and are much warmer than I anticipated. Problematically warm, in fact, as the intent was to wear this over regular clothes in an office setting. The hood is very wimple-like. Or like a sport hijab, if you haven't seen too many wimples. It is WARM. But it does a marvelous job of covering your neck and hair, keeping the continuity of the costume intact. The dark grey foam back of the head piece is more distracting than it looks in the photo, but it isn't a deal breaker. The wind catches it easily - I recommend attaching it to the wimple/hood and stuffing the foam trunk head piece with black cloth (a black shirt or small sweatshirt would do). It is tall enough to make fitting into cars distracting - and I am only 5'2" on a non-Groot day! The hands are the trickiest part - they needed some firm pulling apart (a few fingers were glued shut), and a few stitches. They are impossible to type in, but you can grasp door handles and candy sacks easily. The foot covers are working great indoors. I didn't try them outside! They seem like the only part of the costume that will be miserable in the cold rain we have today. Dark brown tights/pants and shoes would be a non-distracting substitute. This makes a poor Baby Groot costume, but the headpiece is very Groot Sr. Makeup is KEY. It's easy to go scary or friendly or artsy based on makeup alone. I took a creamy brown eyeliner crayon and made slightly swirly vertical woodgrain lines all over my face, then took a creamy black eyeliner and filled in around my eye and my entire eyelid for those beady black Groot eyes. If you're just going tree-ish, the woodgrain lines alone are sufficient. For scary trees, try a patchy/streaky tree-camo-ish brown base all over the face, then take your black facepaint and make a very wide mouth with vertical lines over the lips. It's terrifying. My adult SO wouldn't talk to me or come near me until I washed it off . . . and again, I'm 5'2". Not usually imposing! Hope this was helpful - happy tree-ing! Read more

I won the office Halloween costume contest with this haunted tree garb last year. It really comes with everything you need - the only thing I might add would be some face makeup, but it really isn't even necessary. This is a great costume if you still want to be able to eat and drink during a party and carry on a normal conversation. Going to the restroom is not too challenging, since the main tunic is kind of lightweight, so you can basically just hike it up to waist height if needed. Read more

The foam padding on the hat, shoe covers, and signs came off while hand washing rendering the costume unwearable. Unless you want to wear an unwashed costume, especially the piece on your head, do not buy this. Read more

This is made out of the fabric that most inexpensive costumes are made out of. No shock there. The body and head pieces are great, they look fantastic. Make sure that as soon as you get it, you pull the signs out and lay them flat under a book if needed. One of them was folded when we recieved it with a pretty serious crease and wouldn't hang right. Straightened out just fine after a couple days of laying flat under weight. The foot covers did not stand up that well to moderate use. The fabric is pulling away from the foam that's used to stiffen them. Not a surprise as this is an inexpensive costume. The gloves are junk. Almost totally unusable as is. The fingertips of the gloves end before they even start into the branch fingers. We were in a hurry so didn't take a lot of time to fix them properly, we just did the bare minimum we could to make them work for a short stage part. If we use this costume again, I will completely take them apart and rework them. I would definitely not be afraid to purchase this again, I would just make sure I give myself time to deal with the gloves. Read more
