Update: 3-20-26 This player is still working great! I noticed the player in this review is different from current player. My player was the 80 GB model. (16GB ROM (OS) and 64 GB micro SD card) New version is 163GB model (32 GB ROM (OS) with 128 GB micro SD card). Also have choice of red or black now. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Original review done on 7-27-25 This is a feature packed device! This one is my favorite MP3 Player now! It does Everything I need it to. Including resume shuffle when powering up using audio cable. All the other MP3 players would Restart shuffle when powering up using audio cable. (no Bluetooth connection used) Ruizu with Wi-Fi works excellent! Many benefits. 1. The setup of Wi-Fi went smoothly, finds both 2.4 and 5G networks. Wide range of use too. (which means I can sit in my back yard by my fire pit and still have internet connection) 2. This Mp3 Player is seen as an Android device. 3. With being seen as an Android device, Google Play is loaded. Which means Any Apps you've purchased can more than likely be loaded on this device through your Google Account. (I wouldn't recommend any heavy duty games though, this device isn't designed for gaming) 4. This MP3 player already comes loaded with most popular streaming apps. 5 It also comes loaded with some other good media playing apps and has reading programs too. (another perk is Parental Control if you are setting this up for a child.) 6. I prefer Media Monkey Pro to play my music. (not pre-loaded) Was thrilled to be able to use on this device! 7. With the Wi-Fi I was able to sync my whole music collection (about 200GB) from my computer using Media Monkey to my Ruizu MP3 player wirelessly! ( Note: in Settings, be sure to set Auto Shutdown timer to Never so the download and playback doesn't keep stopping) 8. Which leads to another perk of this player. I added a 1 TB micro SD card! (there is a 64GB micro SD card included) One thing to keep in mind, the main memory of device is only 16GB. I uninstalled some of the programs I won't use to lighten load on player. Install anything you can to the Micro SD card to maintain device performance. 9. The touch screen works great. No flakiness. Friendly user interface. The screen resolution is nice. 10. The device itself is substantial, should hold up well with normal use. Outer edge is metal not plastic. There is a cover to protect the back and sides of device provided, as well as 2 front screen protectors. I usually use a thicker protective case with all my MP3 players. The case I found to fit this player is actually sold for holding kid's play phones. I didn't want a super big case meant for a full sized phone, and the other MP3 cases were too small. 11. The sound quality is good. 12. The Bluetooth paired easily. The range of connection was impressive. 13. The FM tuner is really nice. It will even display any digital information the radio station broadcasts. 14. The User Manual is pretty comprehensive. 15. Changing the background picture was pretty easy. 16 The earbuds that were included came with different sized cushions to accommodate different ear sizes. The sound quality you hear through them is very crisp. 17. This player is definitely worth every penny! Cons: 1. It won't set any performance records for speed. (only 3 GB RAM) But works great for what I need it to do. 2. The battery will last at least 10 hours of constant use. You will have to monitor the battery level closely. Plan on charging it every other day or every day. (it does show % of battery left in upper right corner of screen.) You can charge and play it at the same time. Takes about 1 and 1/2 hours to charge. 3. The Main OS memory (16GB) is a little sparse. You will have to monitor this closely while setting it up, free up as much space as you can to help with the performance too. I highly recommend this player! I've tried 21 different MP3 Players from more than just Ruizu since 2019! I've always liked the Ruizu players better over all. The company does back their product up. Review: My Experience with a Small Tablet for Music and More A review after 5 months, I purchased a small tablet with the primary goal of using it for music playback. I wanted a device that would help me stay away from my phone, and I’m happy to say it worked perfectly for that purpose. The tablet’s ability to stream music, watch movies, and browse the internet (including YouTube and Netflix) made it surprisingly versatile for its size. One of the things I appreciated most was the attention to detail in the packaging—a pre-applied screen protector and a free case. Both of these additions proved invaluable, especially the screen protector, which absorbed several drops and kept the display pristine. The free case was a generous touch and made the device feel even more worth the purchase. I think the design is pretty basic, but I personally don't care too much because my purpose was to reduce my reliance on devices for entertainment. What thrilled me the most was the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack. It’s a feature I miss on most modern devices, especially phones, and it made listening to music on wired headphones a pleasure. I still wonder why manufacturers have removed the headphone jack from so many devices when it remains so useful. To people who don't use the 3.5 mm jack it offers excellent Bluetooth connectivity, it has not once lagged or disconnected using Bluetooth. Battery life and performance were both solid, and the Android interface was smooth and intuitive throughout my use. If there’s one thing I wish this tablet had, it would be the ability to connect to my phone. If it offered seamless phone connectivity, it would easily score a perfect 100 in my review.
