Works well
This works really well on top of the decking and stairs. I sprayed it on in the summer and it works great. I don’t know how well it is holding up during the winter, but we’ve had so much snow you can’t tell. Read more

I used this for the area around the full decking on my surfboard for duckdives and bad foot placement. Works great. Don't know that I would use as the primary traction though. Doesn't feel like much out of the water, but in the water the traction is good; haven't slipped on it yet. I would do a practice run for a surfboard or other non-absorbent surface. It runs pretty easily, so quick passes and a good distance are important. Turn the can upside down and spray until just gas comes out to keep the tip clean after use. Read more
I am thrilled with this product. Perfect for my shower floor and solved a real problem of sliperiness. Sure, it was stinky when I applied it, but so what! The smell left after a couple hours and the performance of this product is steller. It's exactly what was needed. Thank you Rust-Oleum for making the perfect solution to my real problem of a slippery floor. Read more
I applied a whole can to the slippery ceramic floor tiles in our large (40” x 80”) shower. The odor was very strong, dissipating to mild in 24 hours, and absent in 48 hours. The traction is excellent, and we feel very safe now in the shower. The only negative is that as other reviewers have said, it leaves a pronounced yellow brown cast. It is definitely not clear as it is described on the label. But, we value safety over the esthetics and I am glad we bought it. I can’t speak for the durability of the product - it was applied less than 2 weeks ago. Read more
Who knew they made this stuff? I just purchased a new home with ceramic tile on the back porch and steps. Needless to stay I have broken those steps in!! I put down tread mats for the stairs but after a rain, they were slippery too. I tried this and I am amazed! You cannot tell the spray has been put on the ceramic, there is no color change at all, it covers well/evenly. It has lasted for months but I plan to recoat semi-annually - because that is cheaper than a trip to the hospital! Read more
BEWARE: The description is inaccurate. It says it can be used on ceramic floors, inside or out, but when I called Rustoleum Customer Service they told me it was only for outside use and not for ceramic. They also told me it couldn't be used in a humid environment like a bathroom which was where I wanted to use it. Read more
I used this on stained (solid brown) deck stairs. The clear spray goes on great it grips the surface with no runs. The clear sheen is flat it blended in with the color of steps very good.It may have darken the color very very very slightly. If I was not the one who sprayed it on I wouldn’t have noticed the difference.I used it the day before writing this and today it’s been raining so I took my dog outside to see what he thinks he’s the main reason I used this for a long time we’ve had to let him go outside through basement door because he’s scared of slipping not any longer he went down the stairs without hesitation unlike before.I used 2 cans on 14 steps 3.5-4 ft long 12-13 wide. One can gave me one good coat but I wanted to do it right so I wouldn’t have to repeat so soon.Money well spent.I don’t have to worry about my boy hurting himself now. This stuff really depends on what you're using it on. I have used it both on my interior painted wooden steps that are going up to my full attic (because my husband insists on going up there in socks and they're pretty steep so he'd come down on his rear end a few times...😬🫣) and then also on my unfinished wooden front porch steps to help my dogs (especially my 17 yr old) get some grip and not hurt themselves when going out/back in from potty time. The product worked great with providing grip on the interior steps (my husband hasn't had to slide down on his rear end since!) and has stayed on for longer than a few years (granted, we use those steps very little). For those, it added a rough texture that makes the surfaces not slick, though it isnt so rough of a texture that it is uncomfortable on bare or socked feet. However, on the unfinished wooden exterior steps, it didn't even last one summer (forget ice and snow yet) and I've had to turn to a different alternative (stupid black sandpaper tape, which I was really hoping to avoiding having to do because I find it to be ugly). So, ultimately, this stuff can either be really helpful or a waste of time and money, it just depends on your usage. I'd definitely suggest using it on finished surfaces (which I'm sure it says to do already, but again, I really did not want to have to use the ugly black strips of sandpaper, so...) Read more
