Gets the mats out. Take your time and let the tool do the work. Cuts through the toughest of matted hair. I made up to 20 or 30 passes being careful to remove small amounts each time. Especially when the mat is close to the skin. Before we had to cut out the mats with scissors. Again, patience and remove small amounts from the outside of the mat working eventually to the center. This product worked wonders getting the matted and tangled hair out of our cat’s fur. He is 19 years old gland has trouble now grooming his long fur. We had trouble grooming him as well because his skin often was caught up no the matted fur. This has truly changed my dematt game in the salon and I can't see myself using a different sort of tool for such a process! It's easy and makes dematting a pup way less painful for them and way less stressful for you! The only flaw is if you handle it incorrectly you can and will cut your fingers. I have a dog that will not groom. and has thin dog hair. This works wonderfully for me. It breaks the knots up enough to easily pull them out, or the comb gets them. Actually, I wish it was a bit sharper. I didn't find it to be to sharp, I did have to pull a bit to get the knots out, but it works for what I need. Read more

This feels good in the hands - to grip. My Shih Tzu puppy hates being combed - now i comb her with this which cuts right through knots. I also constantly feed her treats. Only con is that the blades are on one side and i can't get the other without turning her around. This works. Read more
