One issue was that as it was being installed, the felt surrounding the entire inside started wrinkling around the screws Read more
The media could not be loaded. For the price point you're not expecting thick metal weighing 100+ lbs. But you do get a good amount of nice features such as battery pack attachment for emergency access should you lose the key and the battery dies. Those of you who have been in that situation before understand the value there. But another slight ding on quality is the workmanship. Mine arrived with the locking mechanism not assembled correctly, shown in video attached. It was an easy fix and it's been working solidly for me otherwise. Read more
Very good safety. Alarm level is low but can be figured out. Read more

We wanted a small safe at home to store cash, financial documents, wills and other sensitive papers. This is the perfect size to accommodate a large number of such documents and any priceless jewelry or other small but valuable items. NOTE: we got the smaller size but larger sizes are available. The shelf comes pre installed and does not appear to be adjustable but that’s okay with us. We really like the fact that you can set your own six digit security code with the digital electronic numeric keypad. There is also a backup key (two are provided) that can be used when you access the keyhole by sliding a panel on the display downward. This is absolutely necessary should you forget the numeric code or the batteries for the electronics die. Even with a totally dead battery there is a concealed power port to jump the electronics with a standard USB cable and the provided battery box.. There is even an internal blue light that activates when the door is opened. The safe includes a siren type alarm when too many incorrect codes are entered but to be honest, it really isn’t loud enough to alert anyone outside the home. But it would wake someone sleeping nearby! The safe comes with some mounting hardware that is not the most intuitive to use, even with the safe’s included instruction book. The safe is heavy but not so heavy a bad guy couldn’t carry it off if not properly secured to a wall. It is listed as fireproof and waterproof but I believe that only refers to the documents bag included. Highly recommeded for secret storing your valuables at home! Read more

If you'll look on here you'll see that all of these same types of safes are all very highly rated and there's a reason....they're really nice! Not fireproof but with a fireproof bag. Understandable at this price point. 3 giant locking bolts secure the door on the side that opens, none on the other 3 sides like on a full size safe, but quite sufficient for the intended purpose. Door opens and closes smooth as butter. I have not even messed with the electronic methods of opening the safe yet and am just using the key for the time being. Where I plan to put it is not all that accessible and I don't know if I have any desire or need to use anything but the key. I will eventually try it out though. I does occur to me that the electronic methods would be great if you wanted to give someone temporary access without having to give them the key. When you're ready to lock them out again you just change the code. Something to consider. This thing is stout but could easily be carried away so I don't plan to put anything in it that I couldn't afford to have a burglar carry away. Mostly things like tax documents and legal papers maybe. I have to laugh when I saw their depiction of this safe loaded with gold bullion. I guess if you have enough gold in it, it might make it too heavy to carry away. LOL Seriously, this thing is fantastic. Highly recommended. Read more
We did not need a large safe, just something capable of securing some of our more important documents and other small valuables. There is plenty of room inside for these smaller items. Access is gained by either punching in a 6 digit passcode on the digital keypad which the user chooses, or by overriding the keypad with a key (two are included). This also permits access should something go awry with the battery. The keyhole is accessed behind a plastic panel that needs to be removed. In the event that the keys are inaccessible or lost, there is a power port to provide power to the digital keypad as an alternate backup. Mounting hardware is included to securely fasten the safe to prevent it from being picked up and absconded with, although mounting isn't particularly fun. All told this is a solid value however for a basic in home safe. Read more
