I love this steamer way more than I should! It isn't heavy, even when full of water, so I have no trouble moving it where I need it to be. It's so easy to use. It heats up quickly and then you point the nozzle at your garments and off you go. It produces a very fine mist, so you don't wind up with water droplets dripping off your fabrics and onto the floor (a problem I did have with a different manufacturer's product). I used this on my linen blend drapes that my husband decided to hang before I could press them. One fill of the tank got me a little over an hour and a half of continuous steaming before I had to stop to refill. That made me very happy! The only thing I would change about this product would be a longer hose for reaching to the tops of drapes. However, it is identified as a garment steamer, so I know I shouldn't have expected it to have that type of hose. It would be nice to have that as an accessory available for purchase, though. If you want to steam out some wrinkles and freshen your clothes and your house, then this is the steamer for you! Read more
I just received and set up this steamer to replace my old Rowenta Compact Valet Steamer. Quality packaging for shipment! Design is as good or better than the Rowenta - especially the boiler unit drain plug to keep boiler dry (no corrosion ) when not in use and to drain periodic descaling solution. (A design function missing on my Rowenta which is why its boiler had a corrosion failure/ thru-wall leak). Startup time is less than 60 seconds as advertised and steam flow is great. I work for a retail shop. I really like the SALAV Steamer! It’s a total game-changer for anyone who hates ironing but still wants crisp, wrinkle-free clothes. The 1800 watts of powerful steam get through even the toughest wrinkles in no time, and the extra-large 3L water tank means I don’t have to keep refilling it while steaming multiple items, which is super convenient. One of my favorite features is the foot pedals. Instead of having to hold down a steam button, I can simply press the pedal with my foot to release steam, making it so much easier to steam clothes hands-free. The heavy-duty design feels durable and professional, yet it’s still lightweight enough to move around easily. Like SUPER LIGHT and it has wheels which makes it even easier to move around. The only downside which could be a ME problem is the clothes get TOO wet and in certain materials causes the fabric to look a little worn. So BE CAREFUL don't hold it too long on really soft fabrics like polyester and lycra. Also the drain button is a little inconvenient to me but again MY opinion. The 3-liter water tank is huge compared to most steamers I’ve used and it runs for well over an hour without needing a refill, which is perfect for doing a whole week’s worth of clothes or tackling larger items like curtains. The steam comes out strong and consistent, and it makes quick work of wrinkles on everything from cotton shirts to heavier fabrics. I really like the foot pedal control since it makes turning it on and off much more convenient when my hands are full. The hanger attachment and wide bar support are also handy for keeping clothes in place while steaming. It feels solid and well-built, but still easy to move around with the rolling wheels. When I’m done, the telescopic pole collapses for more compact storage. I like that this is a high-powered, durable steamer that’s simple to use and saves me a lot of ironing time. Problems with this steamer since I bought it. The hose has been an issue since the beginning. It would randomly start shooting steam out like crazy if the hose was the least bit curved and would continue after pushing the pedal off, which is dangerous. I contacted Salav and they told me it just needed to be cleaned. I always use distilled water and it was brand new at the time, so that made no sense. The head of the steamer will also randomly turn in the direction of the person steaming while on the stand and switched on, which is also dangerous. Both of these things have continued to be an issue off and on. It's amazing that no one was burned. Recently, the pedal just stopped switching the steamer on and off. The light will come on when it's pushed down, but it doesn't stay switched on. I contacted Salev and no response. I've had this thing for about a year and a half and I will never buy one from this brand again. Read more
