My uniform is jeans, a button down shirt, loafers and a belt. The jeans and shirt are almost always boring, so I'm always looking for fun belts or shoes to make things interesting. I have a trillion belts.... but this one is different! I had almost forgotten about Sam Edelman until I saw this belt. When you take it out of the box, you can tell it's quality. It feels heavy in that way that quality things just feel better. The smell of leather also hits you as soon as you open it. I will say, the leather feels prone to scratching. Time will tell if this means it gets a beautifufl worn in patina, or if it just looks old and worn. The belt is simple, classy, but not without making a statement. The Western detail on the side is subtle but noticeable enough without looking costume-y. The buckle is also beautifully understated, and I love the little detail on the belt loop. I sized up so I could wear it with lower rise and high rise jeans. It's really makes a monotone outfit pop - black on black, yes please! Denim on denim (a little Canadian tuxedo), don't mind if I do! This Sam Edelman belt works for me. I bought it specifically to keep my low-rise jeans from slipping over my hips. The leather and stitching are sturdy. I added a picture to show it was made in India which, in my experience, is usually a good bet for leather work. Based on comments from other reviewers, I ordered up a size. You can see in the picture (low rise jeans) that it's belted on the second-to-last hole. In the interest of full disclosure, in fact, several weeks later, I am now belting it on the first-to-last hole. That's because the belt has stretched. On the one hand, if I had taken stretching into account, I would have ordered the belt in a small. However, although the belt tongue is long coming out of the buckle, the tongue is laying flat, so it looks ok. Also, someday I will be passing the belt on to a family member or friend, all of whom are larger than me (i.e., the belt will fit them, too). Read more

Really nice western embellished belt! The shade of brown is lovely and the shape and heft of the buckle is great- looks like good quality even from a distance. I do think that it runs a bit small for a medium, but the sizing in inches is accurate, so make sure to size up if you're between sizes. If you're looking for something that is the very best quality this one isn't it, but it's a very pretty mid-range belt. It's clearly bonded in a way that's not going to last as long as something of a higher quality, so you might want to baby it a little-- I don't know how long it would last in shorter belt loops. This is a high-quality belt made of very nice, soft-feeling leather; it’s buttery but thick and structured enough to hold its shape. I can already tell it is going to break in well. The stitching and detailing gives it a bit of western flair without being over the top. The buckle is a lovely solid piece. I think the buckle will also wear very well and that this is a belt that will last me for years. I wear a 32” pants and got the medium; the measurement they provide (35” to the middle hole) is accurate if you measure from the far end of the buckle. They way the belt sits on me, however, I was on the second to biggest hole. I don’t tend to wear very high-waisted pants, however, so your experience may be different. I’m a repeat customer of Sam Edelman, as they carry some of the nicest and best quality belts. And this “Women's Western Style Emroidered Jean and Trouser Belt,” is incredibly solid and durable for something that is made of only partly genuine leather (60% to be exact). This belt is soft, smooth, and flexible which almost feels like a full-grain leather. It is also true to size. The buckle is also a nice touch, which is just the right size and which looks great and fashionable, especially to wear with jeans and other dressy pants. Not to mention, this belt is also very affordable for something that looks and feel very high end quality and/or luxurious. I love Sam Edelman leather goods. I own a few pairs of the brand’s shoes and boots and have a belt or two in my closet. This - Sam Edelman Women's Western Style Embroidered Jean and Trouser Belt – like the others, does not disappoint. The quality of the hardware and the manufacturing are excellent, and the fit is perfect if I wear the belt on my waist securing the buckle through the center hole. Only then the embroidery appliques are symmetrically aligned. Worn a little lower toward my hips requires using a different hole which pushes the embroidered applique off center (see attached photo). Not a big deal but it’s something that I think is worth noting. For sizing reference, my waist measures 37” and my hips measure 47”. I ordered a size XL. Read more

I gave this Sam Edelman Women's Western Style Emroidered Jean and Trouser Belt to my 13-yaer-old daughter and she loves it! The title, rating, and comments below are hers. I really like this leather western style belt. It fits all my jeans and it is really easy to put on and fasten. The quality is really good and I also really like the front part of it. This belt is really easy to adjust and fits well. The color is also very nice and the buckle is a pretty gold color too. There is nothing I don’t like about this belt and I would totally wear this more if I had shirts that went with it. Read more
