Essential for Ultra series users, but make sure you have a 5A cable!
I bought this official Samsung 45W adapter to get the fastest possible charging speeds for my Galaxy S24 Ultra. I’ve found it to be a necessary upgrade, though it comes with a few technical "fine print" details that every buyer should know. When paired with a 5A-rated cable (which is essential!), this charger activates "Super Fast Charging 2.0." The speed difference is most noticeable in the first 30 minutes; it can take a dead battery to nearly 70% in roughly half an hour. However, keep in mind that as the battery fills up, the speed slows down to protect the battery’s health—this is normal behavior for PPS (Programmable Power Supply) technology. The brick is slightly larger than the standard 25W version but still portable enough for travel. Even during rapid charging cycles, the adapter stays remarkably cool compared to third-party "fast chargers" I’ve used in the past. There is no high-pitched buzzing or coil whine, which is a sign of high-quality internal components. It is important to remember that this is the adapter only. To actually reach 45W, you cannot use a standard USB-C cable. You must use a cable that supports 5A current. If you use a regular 3A cable, the phone will cap the charging at 25W, defeating the purpose of buying this specific model. If you own an Ultra-series phone or a Galaxy Tab S9, this is a worthwhile investment to save time during quick top-offs. For owners of standard S-series phones, the 25W charger might be more cost-effective as they won't see the benefit of the extra wattage. Read more
