I have really liked this item in place of a towel at the beach. Its made of comfortable absorbent material. One could easily change underneath the poncho if needed. I have been living in a beachy community since I bought it, so I have never had to avail myself o f this function since I have been here. I like the pockets. Things that I wish were different. The hood is kind of small. I kind of wish there was more material so that the hood was bigger and a looser fit and more of a drape rather than kind of hugging my head. The other thing I would change if I were the manufacturer, is to open up the arm holes some more, and add a snap or button so that you can choose a large or small arm hole size. (I saw this on a cheaper alternative a friend had. For the astronomical price I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it surely was at least a little more than what I got. The first time I washed this thing it frayed so badly I have to hack at it with scissors for a good 20 minutes. Be careful if you do try to change under it as advertised as the seams have a nasty habit of absolutely self destructing. Love having what is essentially an adult size hooded towel, but I don't know if I love it enough to dedicate another full shift of wage labor to getting another one. Read more

I was hoping this would be the same as the bath towels but in a cover-up. However, this is very thick and heavy; not quite right for a Florida summer around the pool. Update - the seller contacted me to ask how they could make it right; I was very appreciative and said that I would keep it and use it when it's cooler here. If they every design a lighter version, I would definitely give it a try! I am updating to 5 stars because the issue with the product was in no way a reflection of the seller or the product itself!
