Although this is lower end machine, it works great so far. I have a large collection of both VHS & DVD media and machines like this are almost impossible to find in a store so I am thrilled to have this affordable machine that works well. The only drawback is the poor markings on the remote control that are very difficult to read unless you hold the remote in good light and just-right angle. Otherwise a very good product. Read more

I am so grateful to still find a VCR/DVD player for my very large library of exercise videotapes, collected over a period of about 20 years. I received excellent service with regard to timely delivery as well as getting a beautifully functioning unit that was easy to hook up to my TV. This is an Ok unit in today's world. Very light in weight, feels and looks cheap and probably made for light duty. Like a lot of people we needed it to play old VHS home movies and favorite movies, probably won't use it much. It was easy to hook-up being a direct replacement for and old one that no longer worked. The biggest complaint is that the remote also turns on our Sylvania Blue Ray player and the Blue Ray remote turns on the Sanyo player. Once you use the remote to turn one of the units on you have to manually turn off the other one. Guess they both use the same frequency. Read more

The unit seem to work fine until I played VHS tapes. The tape started out fine but then it had black outs then played fine for a while then blacked out again. This made like watching a movie then advertisement busts in to spoil the show. Other wise the DVD work fine.Is there some adjustment that can be made to fix problem? Read more

My wife ordered this without asking me after her previous purchase wore out in mere months. The listing does not make it clear that it only allows monophonic input for either recording or pass-through. It does not have the full set of RCA connectors for input and does not have DIN composite input/output. After receiving the unit, I found others that would have better met my needs for $50 less. I have not yet purchased the "Y" RCA connector required for installation (but not provided) and have not been able to use the unit. Read more

I have been quite pleased with my purchase of this Sanyo product. I am able to watch my VHS tapes and DVDS. It was easy to set up and is easy to use. Product as promised and worked flawlessly right out of the box. Although advertised as refurbished, the packaging and peripherals looked and responded as new. The remote worked exactly as expected, and like any new product, only took a few minutes to learn to operate. The unit plays both DVD's and VHS tapes with no problems.
