This skirt was extremely comfortable to wear at work all day, and I received compliments about it. The split is not too high to be unprofessional, yet enough to have a leg out under the desk for comfort. The quality of the material seems high and didn't rip or tear when bending over at all. This skirt style worked out quite well for my height and leg length, and was versatile enough to wear with many blouses that I already own. First off, I absolutely love this skirt. I've had similar length without a slit and lighter weight fabric, and this definitely beats it. The one downside though is that the wrinkles are impossible to remove thus the 4 stars. I washed and dried and wrinkles stick around. For my everyday life this isn't a big deal, but if I wanted to use this classic piece for say, a job interview, I would think twice. On the upside, I don't see any visible panty lines and the skirt is not see-thru. The slit isn't too high on my 5'3 frame until I sit down in my car or at lunch. In that case it's a side slit so there aren't any peekaboos at least. The satin waistband is folded over to where it meets elastic. The bottom of the elastic isn't sewn to the skirt which allows for more freedom of stretch around the waist and one less seam. It's very comfortable and the slit makes it easy to walk stairways and hills. Ultimately if you're looking for a classic black skirt to get you through casual days where wrinkles aren't an issue, I'd say go for this skirt. You'll be pleased with the smoothness and thickness of the fabric, the bias-cut advantaged fit, and rich black color. If you're concerned about the slit grabbing attention, just wear some opaque tights and you'll be good to go. Read more
This skirt is so cute. The material is soft and has a great sheen to it without being obnoxiously shiny. The slit is high, but not trashy. I wore this with thigh high boots and a long oversized turtleneck sweater. Perfection. The sizing is accurate but I'll admit, it was just a little on the tight side for me.
