This is an unusual "scabbard". It's versatile: can be worn either left or right, and the angled design has advantages over a straight sheath or holster. On the other hand, it's sewn completely flat. There's no natural opening as would result from a sheath sewn with one face curved out from the other. Thus, it can be hard to insert anything without two hands, and any tool inserted tends to deform the scabbard equally in both directions, which is awkward if you've worn it along a curved belt. (Which would be typical, yes?) I honestly don't know if I'll find a good use for this scabbard. For now I'm seeing if I can break it in by storing a thick-handled knife there. Nice thick leather feel. Comfortable if touching your skin. I had an issue with a pocket knife that opened up in my pocket when I had to sprint (i was chasing a chicken). This is really nice because its an extra step of protection for something like that, and its handy too. Thankfully I didn't get cut but I easily could have. Looks great as well. Read more
