The candles burn evenly and the scent throw is noticeable without being overpowering. I also appreciate that they’re soy-based, which tends to burn cleaner and last longer. I picked up this men’s scented candle set not really knowing what to expect, but it turned out to be a solid buy — especially if you like deeper, more “masculine” scents. The variety is what stands out most. You get a mix like leather, smoke & vanilla, oak, and lavender, and each one has a distinct vibe. The leather and smoke scents are definitely the strongest and give off that warm, slightly cologne-like feel, while the lavender helps balance things out when you want something more relaxing. The candles burn pretty evenly and last a decent amount of time for their size. I also like that they’re soy-based, so they don’t produce that heavy, overpowering smoke some cheaper candles do. Scent strength is moderate — not weak, but not overwhelming either. It’s enough to fill a room without being too intense, which I prefer. Only downside is the tins are a bit small, so if you’re expecting large candles, these are more on the compact side. I’m very impressed with this Auelife set. The scents are sophisticated, masculine, and fill the room perfectly without being too strong. Smells like a high-end boutique, it’s clean-burning soy wax and no black smoke, I love that hey last much longer than expected for their size. The matte black jars look great in any room. These single-wick candles are a real treat; this pack of four features different scents, all of which are very pleasant. They arrived very well-packaged, and the speed with which I received them was incredible. I highly recommend them because they smell wonderful—they make ideal gifts, but above all, I love enjoying their fragrance in my home and at my workplace. Candles came in a nice box with padding, and the candle containers look good, too. On first inspection before lighting, the oak and lavender candles do indeed smell slightly like they should, whereas the other two have no discernable smell at all. Once you light any of the candles, any scent that was there before is quickly overwhelmed by the burning (soy?) wax, so you end up with a room that essentially smells like a crayon. The lavender candle is actually put to better use as an air freshener if you just leave the lid off and don't light it. These candles are fine if you need a little extra illumination, say, during a power outage; but are useless if you're wanting a pleasing scent. Certainly not worth the $28 I paid. Gave it an extra star since it at least actually produces some light. Read more
The scents are decent but I expected a lot more for the price. I was also only able to burn one completely through. After a couple times blowing them out, they became impossible to light. Unfortunately will not return to the product for that reason in itself. Read more
Great for the price. I feel as though the scent lasts long and it is nice having a variety of scents. The only one that i think smells bad is the leather one. I think they go great with a mens room however note that they are a bit on the smaller size. Read more
