Repair worked flawlessly!
I nicked a heating cable when trying to remove a floor spacer that had been set with the mortar from previous day. This caused a break in the heating cable. Luckily I only had to remove one tile to free enough slack to make this repair. The kit comes with five small heat shrink tubing with solder attached. This creates a tight connection to where the break was. I didn't have to add any additional wiring so I only had to use two of these from the kit. The heat shrinks go over the two conducting wires before wrapping the ground braid with the copper foil. Then finally another heat shrink tubing goes on top of all of this. The heat shrink has adhesive that hardens once it cools. It creates a very strong and secure bond. The instructions that it came with was very detailed and easy to follow. The cable tested the with the resistance as factory once it was repaired. The flooring thermostat didn't recognize any faults and worked as normal. Read more
