The size is great! You can lock it to plenty of things! Super convenient, it’s a heavy duty lock and I got it for my e-scooter and it does the job perfectly well. It’s not bulky, not heavy, easy to carry around/take with you. Read more

I’ve seen the "E-Scooter boom" bring with it a massive spike in theft. The problem? Most traditional U-locks are too rigid for scooter stems, and cable locks are basically "gift wrap" for thieves with a pair of bolt cutters. The Honszex Handcuff Chain Lock is one of the most practical security solutions I’ve tested for the micro-mobility market. It takes the "handcuff" design—pioneered by high-end security brands—and makes it accessible and portable for the everyday commuter. The Design: Purpose-Built for Scooters The genius of the handcuff mechanism lies in its versatility. One end "cuffs" your scooter stem or frame, while the other secures it to a bike rack or pole. Because the cuffs have a pivoting link, they are incredibly difficult to attack with power tools or pry bars—there’s simply no "leverage point" for a thief to exploit. Portability & Weatherproofing One of my biggest gripes with heavy-duty locks is where to put them while riding. Honszex solves this by including a Waterproof Scooter Bag. I mounted this to the front of a Hiboy and a Segway Ninebot; it’s sturdy, doesn't rattle, and keeps the lock (and your keys) protected from the elements. This "all-in-one" package adds significant value that you don't get with standalone locks. PROS High Deterrent Factor: Thieves look for easy targets. A heavy-duty handcuff lock screams "too much work," usually sending them looking for a weaker cable lock nearby. Perfect Fit for E-Scooters: Unlike U-locks that often leave too much "dead space," these cuffs provide a snug fit around scooter stems, making it impossible to slide the scooter out. Hardened Steel Construction: The chain links and cuffs are heat-treated, providing excellent resistance against manual bolt cutters. The Accessory Bonus: The included waterproof bag is high-quality. It has enough room for the lock plus a small multi-tool or your charging cable. Key Security: The lock comes with multiple keys (always keep one at home!) and the cylinder is designed to resist basic picking and drilling. CONS Length Limitations: With a total length of about 2 feet, you have to park quite close to the rack. This isn't a "long-reach" lock, so don't expect to wrap it around a large tree. Weight: This is a heavy-duty security item. It has some heft to it (which is good for security), but you'll definitely want to use the included bag rather than carrying it in a jacket pocket. Overall Input If you own an e-scooter or an e-bike, you are a target for theft. The Honszex Handcuff Lock is the best balance of "high security" and "high portability" currently on the market. It’s significantly more secure than a cable and far more flexible than a standard D-lock. Pro-Tip: To keep the locking mechanism smooth for years, I recommend a tiny drop of graphite lubricant or WD-40 Specialist Silicone in the keyhole every six months, especially if you live in a rainy or salty coastal climate. Who is this for? Anyone who has to leave their electric scooter or bike unattended in a city, on a college campus, or at a train station. It’s the "peace of mind" you need when you walk away from your ride. Read more

If you need a lock that's sturdy and don't want to deal with clunky chains and those little D'ring lock things, this is a great option. I've been using it for a week and have found it both very easy to use, the locking mechanism both sturdy and smooth, and the carry bag just makes things really convenient. As far as carry bags go, this thing is a little bit flimsy (it's trying to be a hardshell case but you can push it in with a thumb if you want). That being said, it gets the job done and makes it so I've never forgotten the lock or keys. It's a good product and I feel pretty comfortable leaving my scooter locked up on campus knowing that there are plenty other bikes and scooters around it behind far worse locks. Read more

I'll give it a 4 star bc it's safety, but the keys are too soft. Broke one off inside and wasn't forceful with it either. Read more

Love these locks. I bought 2, one for my and one for my husband's scooters and it's perfect. I never leave my scooter unattended for more than 6 hours so, it's tested in Miami for that timeframe. The case fits fits perfectly and there's room for my wallet and keys easily. It's easy to attach and the locks are smooth so no struggles. I love that it looks nice attached to my scooter as I ride too!!! Update: It’s been a couple of weeks since I had this lock and I want to say I still love it. I found a guy at the local dog park trying to Jimmie it open and even though I saw him within 2 minutes, he wasn’t able to Jimmie it quickly enough. I worried about this since it’s like a handcuff but the locking mechanism is very different and unless you have the right key’ it’s not an easy lock to breech. Ordering another one for my bike as a secondary lock since it’s sooo affordable. Finally Amazon has something I can count on. Read more

Bought this for my daughter’s scooter. First, the rubber that is supposed to cover the metal - so the metal on the lock isn’t scraping the metal on the bike/scooter - comes off very quickly. Destroyed the paint and some of the metal on part of the scooter. Also, the lock is very heavy, adding to the drain on the scooter battery, but it also hints that the lock might be sturdy. The keys stopped working on it after just over two months because the locking mechanism came loose - and the keys bend easily, ruining them. So I decided we were done with using that lock but then I couldn’t get it off the scooter. However, when my daughter would hit a bump while riding, one of the “cuffs” would pop open - but not both, so we still couldn’t get it off. Finally after smashing and prying I was able to get it off and put it where it belongs: the garbage. Gave it 1 star because it is heavy duty, would have liked to give it no stars. Scooter didn’t get stolen though, just really scraped up from the metal on the lock. Read more
