I was going to install a new garmin 67w dash cam in my dad's 01 Ford Excursion and was looking for an alternative to the $50 garmin obd cable. And a Google search got me to the scosche obd adapter cable. Installation was a breeze without splicing any wires. It works with the garmin dash cam perfectly. This product does work, however it will not cut power until your battery falls below 12.3V (they do say this in the description). What did not know until I bought the product is that some cars will throw an error if the battery is constantly below 12.3V So it's worth checking whether your car has that "feature" before buying this product. Neither worked. I tested the non OBD II on a fresh test battery. Good power and ground all the way to the module. I tested my OBD II and hand good power and ground all the way to the module. No power out from there. Bad units! Read more

This product is always on. If so you will have battery drain if you use it on a camera etc. They should have a timer on it. It fine for charging a cell phone etc. Read more
