unreliable drives and horrendous warranty agents

out of 6 iron wolf pro drives, 3 have no failed for a 50% fail rate across a mere 3months. seagate warranty agents are clueless, and were lying and coming up with lowgrade excuses on variety of issues concerning warranty replacement. i have ZERO trust in this company. the replacements and the remaining drives will be swapped out for another brand asap. The media could not be loaded. it works completely fine but for some reason this drives started to make noises i ask for another drive and it just arrived and guess what the exact same noise i can't believe it i tested them with different power supply cables, sata cables, motherboards, cpus, even a different windows and is still making those noises and i test my power supply is passing the right amount of energy on every cable (and of course nothing else is failing) so i ran out of ideas on what to do :'( Read more

Not for Drobo 5D3

I purchased 2 of these to use in my Drobo 5D3 enclosure. Unfortunately, the drives did not fit in the Drobo - I even replaced the Drobo thinking it was the issue. They would slide in and activate, but the Drobo would not lock them in place - and any movement of the unit caused them to pop out. I then switched to some Red drives, which perfectly fit into the DAS drive with no issues. I would not recommend The IronWolf Pro for a Drobo installation. Read more
