Bought two "new" drives, one wouldn't spin and was out of the Seagate warranty
I got two drives advertised as new, they came in a package any anti-static bags that weren't from Seagate. One actually was new, the other wouldn't spin up. I tried troubleshooting with data and power cables that work on other drives, still wouldn't work. I tried a different motherboard, nothing. BIOS and Seatools can't recognize it. I checked the serial numbers through Seagate's website for warranty information, and surprise, the one that wouldn't spin is out of warranty. Even the one that works is a few years into its own warranty. So I basically burned several hundred dollars on a faulty, and likely pre-owned drives. Read more
Great with No Issues
I received these for putting in a QNAP NAS for data storage. Drives have ran wonderfully. Powered up first time without any issues. Powered them on 236 days ago with 0 abnormal sectors. Would buy these again for this application. Read more
Upgraded Synology 8TB NAS to 16TB, Extra Features Exclusive to Seagate in Synology
This was the perfect upgrade for my Synology 216play. Went from 8TB RAID-1 to 16TB RAID-1. The Synology detected the Seagate drives and added IronWolf Health App automatically. That's an awesome little perk. Read more
Defect/Fake Product
Got this and was excited to hook it up to my PC. Something seemed off though, sticker on HDD looked very generic and plain. Plugged it in and computer would not boot up. Unplugged it and computer booted up. OS was on internal SSD on Motherboard so idk what the issue was. Plugged it in to a different cable and HDD was detected as an unknown but yet didn't exist. Then it started beeping (Beeping is NOT good and means there is an issue) Beeped for a bit before the the beeping died and was completely gone from being detected. I was really hoping a 3rd party for Seagate would be legit, guess not. I am returning this and just going to stick with Seagate themselves from now on. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Read more
Easy to change out and restore data pool -No problems after verification
OLD HD failed and this one took its place. Went from 12tb to 16tb and gained some needed storage space. I would recommend Seagate Hard DRIVES for anyone in IT or needing to replace a computer HD. Read more
Fast and reliable. A litlle Noisy tho. Package could be better.
I have a Synology NAS that I use as a multimedia center and since I mounted this drive, no more frezzing or skiping while seen a big video file, but I'm doing work from home and, since I mounted this drive, my NAS is making way more noise than whith my previous 4 drives together! I'm gonna have to move my NAS out of my office because it can be annoiying sometimes. Read more
