I have several NAS boxes and am using 10 of these. Some are on their 3rd year with no issues. Not the quietest drive but they "Just work" I would recommend to anyone with a NVR or NAS that they depend on. Read more

Bit expensive isn't quite as good as the two TB version it was a white label drive?

Drive came without the skyhawk picture which had me a bit on the curious side. I had the 2TB version and it appeared to be quicker for my NVR and without a doubt at all the 2TB runs quieter and cooler but still this thing is a lot less loud than the WD Purple series drive. Over all it is a bit louder than 2TB variant. Keep in mind the drive I got had a plain white label so could be a knockoff? Runs HOT. A bit on the pricey side as well being 1/2 the size of the largest drive available to market. Read more

WARNING: For drive that comes with a white label

The two drives I received had white labels on them not the normal SkyHawk labels. I have a new AI NVR that use the SkyHawk drives for AI health checks. I installed these two drives and the NVR did not see these drives as SkyHawk AI so I contacted Seagate gave them the serial numbers and one came up as a EXOS 7E a cheaper drive and they could not tell me what the other drive was by the serial number on the drive. I am returning these drives and will buy them from another site. Beware if you get the white label drive you may be getting a total different drive than you ordered and paid for. Check with Seagate on those white label ones look like a bait and switch by someone. I gave one Star not for the drive but to warn others about getting the wrong cheaper drive and not a real SkyHawk AI. I ordered two 8TB drives. Read more
