This review is a combination of my thoughts from examining these boots, our young teen's thoughts after wearing them weekly to the ranch where she takes riding lessons, and big sister's thoughts (she is an accomplished rider) in comparison to her genuine leather, high quality, brand name cowboy boots. Basically, these are fashion cowboy boots more than functional boots, and the quality is fair for this price point. At their current price near $50 I am not particularly wowed, but that said, I wouldn’t expect them to be the quality I’d find for $100+ at the local boot specialty store either. If you are looking for more of a “fashion boot” for casual wear these are a decent option. The look of the faux leather is just okay to me, it isn't going to fool anyone but it is soft and flexible. The fit is roomy with a "wide calf opening" for easier on and off, in fact Teen Sis (who has slender legs and narrow feet) describes them as "floppy" so if you also have slim calves and/or narrow feet then your regular size may be too big in these boots, or they just might not be the right fit for you at all. Teen Sis has recently outgrown her good quality boots and we weren’t ready to invest in a new pair just yet, so these SelRoys boots have been serving their purpose as an interim boot; she enjoys wearing them to riding lessons as well as all around, even though the fit is really too roomy for her she insists they are comfortable. Big Sis doesn’t feel like they would provide much support for general wear or protection for riding, but that isn't surprising since again they are clearly meant to be more of a fashion boot and are also designed with that loose/wide fit. As far as quality they seem to be holding up well so far, even though Teen Sis is wearing them for more than their fashion-intended purposes. Ideally I would give these boots 3.5 starts, but I am rounding up to 4 stars. I think it comes down to your expectations, needs, and available budget for a pair of boots. If you are looking for a pretty comfortable cowboy boot look for casual wear, and need a wider and roomy fit, and these fit your budget, they are a good option. Read more

My daughter is obsessed with boots right now and she wants as many as I'll get for her. We gave these a try as some every day, school and on the go boots and so far so good! She said they were comfy, the design was cute. The front part is kind shiny where the ostrich look is. Great color. I knew when I ordered these that they weren’t leather, but I was not expecting the material to look so cheap. The stitched pattern is cute, but the material looks like cheap plastic. The inside of the boots are nice and soft with decent support, which makes them comfortable on my foot, but they are definitely sized very generously. I need to wear a thicker sock for these to fit properly. And they are very loose around my calves as well, which I thought would be good for me because I do have larger calves but they’re actually too big. Overall these boots are just super disappointing. So first, these are not real leather but it tells you that. I was pretty skeptical it might be that cheap plastic leather but actually it’s a very soft fake leather! Also the brown is a soft brown and looks great in real life. They are very comfortable! However they do seem to run a bit big. I have some thick socks on and that helps but I’m probably gonna get a heel insert. I’m definitely going to be wearing them this winter (it’s summer right now) bc they are very comfortable. Will update later once they have gotten more broken in as to how they hold up from wear, weather and comfort. But for fun, aesthetic boots, these are really cute and comfy. Read more

Sizing: I got these boots in a 10, I usually prefer 9 -9.5. But since there was no 9.5, I went with the 10, but they are too big. Not sure if a 9 would be too tight though, but these flop when I walk. The boots are super cute in my opinion. The square toe is a plus, I should have paid more attention to that. There doesn’t seem to be arch support though. I like these. I need to exchange them for my correct size, but for the price… I say yes so far 🤷🏾‍♀️ But there isn’t a lot of cushion or arch support.
